When it comes to Kory, he didn't play his best football. Physically he was coming back from a knee, but he also false started. Like a lot. LeRib came in and played as well as LeRib did. I don't know about Gettis over Chester, but there's some guards in this draft that could see spot duty. We overpaid Chester to get him in the first place (then again everyone sort of overpays for free agents), and if he knee issues are too big it might be worth it to get him, especially if Gettis was pushing him in practice.
In the draft you've got guys like David Quessenbary or Brian Schwenke who I think can be day one starters at the guard position. Don't know about free agency but Mike's not going to cut Chester and let Lich walk without a plan.
Oh man signing Jackson and Zo would be a huge day for the skins. Glad to see the FO trying to keep more home grown players.
Well that all sucks. Why can't we just always have the same freaking O line.

The fact that we got through most of the season with the same o-line in all but one game is a minor miracle. In fact, it's a slightly bigger miracle that we kept Trent, Kory, Will, Chester, and Tyler together that long. Turnover on offensive lines is really a new thing; paying for the same group of five guys to stay together for a long time is a real expensive thing.
We sort of had to expect this when we drafted LeRib and Gettis.

Emmanuel Sanders - WR - Steelers
Steelers extended an original-pick tender to restricted free agent WR Emmanuel Sanders.
Sanders is currently slated to start opposite Antonio Brown with Mike Wallace heading out of town. He set career-highs in catches (44) and yards (626) in Todd Haley's dink-and-dunk offense in 2012. An original third-round pick, Sanders will be safe from offer sheets.

Jonathan Dwyer - RB - Steelers
Steelers extended original-pick tenders to restricted free agent RBs Jonathan Dwyer and Isaac Redman.
The Steelers will enter the heart of the offseason with Dwyer under control as their top back, and Redman as the projected third-down specialist. They could always rescind these tenders if Dwyer and Redman opt not to sign, and Pittsburgh uses a high draft pick on a running back like Eddie Lacy. Dwyer disappointed in 2012 after a hot start. Redman defines plodder, lacking big-play run skills.

Rob Jackson - LB - Redskins
The Washington Examiner reports the Redskins and restricted free agent OLB Rob Jackson have "made a lot of progress" on a new deal and are "close."
Jackson started 14 games in 2012 after Brian Orakpo was placed on injured reserve, and he recorded 4.5 sacks while being fine in coverage with four interceptions and six pass deflections. The Redskins have used Saturday to lock up restricted free agents before tenders are due on Tuesday.

Steve McLendon - DL - Steelers
Steelers extended an original-pick tender to restricted free agent NT Steve McLendon.
McLendon is believed to be the heir apparent to Casey Hampton at nose tackle, but there's also chatter that he could move to defensive end in the 3-4. He has ideal height at 6-foot-4 while also showing the ability to push the pocket in limited opportunities. The low tender will pay McLendon $1.323 million.
