If we snagged Kerry Rhodes I think we would already have a very formidable defense.
We work together and your name is Richard and I call you Dick and you hate it. You ask me to stop. I refuse, so you go to HR and they say "well he has been calling you Dick for several months so we think you set the precedence, sorry". Frustrated you ask me again." Hey man stop calling me Dick" I say "Sorry Dick, it's tradition, HR said so" Well in that scenario there is only one dick and it aint Richard. Why be that guy?

....Kirk Cousins is going to take all of the reps with the first team for the Washington Redskins this offseason as Robert Griffin III recovers from reconstructive knee surgery.

The club has already announced that. The hope, too, is that Rex Grossman returns to the fold this coming season. Grossman was the No. 3 behind the pair of rookies this past season and in the event Griffin wasn’t ready for the start of the season, he would become the backup.

“I expect him to be back. … I’d like to have Rex back,” Redskins coach Mike Shanahan, according to Mark Maske of the Washington Post.

The club met with Grossman’s agent Drew Rosenhaus at the owners meetings. Obviously, the Redskins are pressed for space against the salary cap. Grossman has the skill and experience to be a quality No. 2 for some team. He’s smart too so he could understand an offense without getting the reps every day. But doors might not be opening for him elsewhere at this point

This. I have been stalking these pages for days and we crack me up... People have Biggers penciled in as everything from camp fodder to our No. 1 CB. He grades out pretty impressive and is the of the age and skill-set Shanny and Allen have targeted in FA since coming to the Skins. I think the dude is a starter unless we get Hall back and/or draft a DB in the 2nd or 3rd who comes in and is a world-beater from day one. We could do worse as Biggers is 26 and has starting experience in a pass-happy division. People forget how poor Hall was much of last season, and yes I agree much of it had to do with the play of the safety position. If we sign Hall, we should experiment with him at FS regardless of what we draft. If we sign Winfield, we move on from Hall.

I like Crawford and am praying Minnifield makes it back from his injuries.

Thanks. That's awesome and I'm tracking... but as I said, I would've liked to have had him as a 3.

I appreciate Grossman's knowledge of the playbook... but with Johnson you can run both offenses (Houston/Den/Was and the Zone Read) in a pinch.

I'm over this keeping Grossman around business. Put a cheap deal on the table and tell him to take it or leave it. Otherwise, time to move on. People act like the offense is rocket science, but Shanahan felt comfortable with two rookies picking it up. Just get a vet in here and have him start learning it now.

The quality of vet QB you're gonna get to come in as your #3 QB isn't gonna be much better than Grossman, and in fact will most likely be worse. If they have a good read in Rex's likelihood of returning then might as well be a bit patient for now.

Given that the draft is not 1st-round talent heavy, but has good depth, AND the Skins are drafting 22 (well, our draft position was 22), the Rams have to be disappointed considering that they thought they would have gotten -- a top-10 in a stronger-at-the-top draft. Anyone come across any Rams or Ram fans griping?

Even if we could, he does not want to play RT it seems.

People forget that it isn't just about having a third guy incase he needs to play. Grossman can continue to help Cousins and RGIII with intricacies of the offense they haven't yet mastered. He's also going to be able to run practice during the week and the training camp to a degree that no other vet or rookie is going to be able to. That's improved snaps for every other player involved on offense and defense. There's value to that.

The less time our coaches have to spend with our #3 the more they can spend with the first two. The less mistakes he's making the more plays we can run in practice and the better look everyone else gets.
