So, the CFL has taken back Jovan Olafioye... FWIW, the Cleveland Browns had a contract on the table for him and he refused it to sign with the BC Lions, stating "the offer was not what I thought I was worth."

Although, I'm pretty sure if we were still to offer something to his liking, he could void the BC Lions contract. Don't they have some sort of option to the NFL if a player receives an offer?

Couple suggestions and flaws in your statement.

-I WOULD trade Orakpo for a 1st rounder, but coming off an injury. especially since it was the same muscle 2x, we could not get a 1st for him.
-I WOULD draft rhoades in the 1st...Kid is special and is going to be very VERY good.
-I WOULD NOT sign johnson, he's simply not a fit. i would plug Rob Jackson in at OLB.

Basially all this comes down to trading Orakpo strait up for Xavier Rhoades. I feel that we have a capable player to plug into the OLB position (Jackson), and I also feel that Rhoades is going to very good. So yea, I would......but this would never happen so its a pipedream at best

NFL Network draft analyst Mike Mayock says Florida State CB Xavier Rhodes is generating second-round grades from teams ahead of the Combine.
Mayock hinted that NFL teams aren't sure yet whether Rhodes will better fit at cornerback or safety. Some teams, like the Patriots, actually value safety-corner hybrids as opposed to downgrading them. "A guy like Xavier Rhodes, who's a corner and a safety," said Mayock, "... he right now has mostly second-round grades as a corner or a safety, depending on what he runs."

Hey D&G, if Shanahan were to draft BPA what would our draft look like? Just curious, thanks in advance.

I wouldn't worry too much about his size. He was tearing it up in Vikings camp... He packs a powerful punch for his size, no doubt.

When roster cuts were announced yesterday for the Minnesota Vikings, one name I didn’t expect to see was Solomon Elimimian. The former CFL all star linebacker will have to try and make a roster somewhere else.

Overall the main reason for his cut has to be the hamstring injury that’s bothered him over the past week to ten days

****, I'll throw him up on the OP. I just think he'll have a hard time getting off a block with no rear end backing him up.

Did BC win the Gray Cup last year?

EDIT: Just checked, looks like it was Toronto.

    BC won in 2011.

You're looking at this all wrong. If we did that, we'd put him on the line at DE, release Carriker or Bowen, whichever will save the most money and resign Jackson for Rak's spot. We'd even have money leftover to go after someone else and Johnson's added pass rush makes up for any drop going from Rak to Jackson.

    If dreams were reality anyway.

Interesting find, seems like he could be a fit but I doubt we look at the CFL unfortunately. I mean its not like a guy from the CFL ever came in, dominated the league winning MVP and a SB or anything. Clearly they aren't worth looking at.

You realize that you aren't rushing the passer from DE in a 3-4 right? You are occupying blocks so the linebackers can get there. If you get there, great, but that isn't your job.

Early lunch nuggets from rotoworld.com (or for some of us, pre-workout Gatorade chews):

Robert Griffin III (knee) said Tuesday that although his "goal" is to start Week 1, he will not "compromise" his career to do so. He shared this video:

710 ESPN considers free agent K Steven Hauschka the Seahawks' most likely candidate for the franchise tag.
Hauschka was 23-of-23 from inside 50 yards last season. Franchising him would cost $2.926 million, something the financially comfortable Seahawks can certainly live with. However, Hauschka went just 1-of-4 from 50-plus yards out last season and is 4-of-10 from that distance in his career. Perhaps coach Pete Carroll will want to bring in a bigger leg.

ESPN's Ed Werder reported on SportsCenter Tuesday that free agent Tony Gonzalez is beginning to "waver" on his previous retirement plans.
"I'm told virtually everyone in the Falcons' organization has been campaigning for Gonzalez to make one more Super Bowl run," said Werder. "And I'm told that he's beginning to waver. The people who have spoken to him seem to believe that they're making progress. In fact, one player close to Gonzalez told me 'I think, if the circumstances are right, that Tony Gonzalez will return.'" We also expect Gonzalez back. He has too much good football left.

Coach Ron Rivera declined to comment on the status of potential cap casualty DeAngelo Williams.
"We're going through the whole thing first and foremost before those decisions are made," Rivera said. It's likely a case of a coach not wanting to throw dirt on a player before he's officially buried. The cap-strapped Panthers are widely expected to make Williams a post-June 1 cut and roll with Jonathan Stewart, whose a lock to be back after getting more money added to his guaranteed 2013 base salary.

Pioneer Press columnist Charley Walters suggests Percy Harvin could hold out of the first 10 games of the season.
Walters isn't reporting here, he's just throwing out options that Harvin has. By showing up for the final six games of the season a la Vincent Jackson in 2010, players still accrue a year toward free agency. Since Harvin is in the final year of his rookie deal, he'd greatly reduce the chance of injury just before cashing in on the open market. We wouldn't expect the situation to become this dire, but it's a chip Harvin can keep in his back pocket.

Appearing on SportsCenter Tuesday, ESPN's Adam Schefter said the Chiefs may wind up franchise tagging Dwayne Bowe for a second straight year.
"The Chiefs are gonna figure out a way to keep him," said Schefter. The Chiefs prefer a long-term deal, but they may not want to commit Vincent Jackson money to Bowe for fear of "decreased effort" once he gets paid. Keeping Bowe hungry and in another contract year could prevent against that. If tagged consecutively, Bowe would command over $11 million guaranteed for the 2013 season.

Scouts Inc.'s Matt Williamson says free agent TE Brandon Myers is a fit for new OC Greg Olson's scheme.
Myers busted out with 79 catches for 806 yards in Greg Knapp's West Coast scheme last season. Although much of that production game in garbage-time comebacks led by Carson Palmer, the numbers will open some doors for Myers once free agency opens on March 12. The Raiders are expected to let Myers test the market before trying to re-sign him. "Oakland's receivers have a lot of talent, but are just so erratic and inconsistent with their routes and responsibilities ... which makes Myers alluring for this passing game," Williamson says. "Oakland should bring him back if possible."

The Detroit Free Press says the Lions would like to re-sign free agent FS Louis Delmas to a short-term deal.
If Delmas hadn't missed 13 games games over the last two seasons due to injury, he'd be a candidate for a lucrative long-term contract. When healthy, he's a difference-maker in a secondary desperate for talent. However, the Lions say they won't even use the one-year, $6.8 million franchise tender on Delmas. ProFootballTalk's Mike Florio says he "could be this decade's Bob Sanders."

ESPN's Paul Kuharsky believes the Cowboys could be a fit for free agent DE Dwight Freeney.
Under new defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin, the Cowboys have switched to Freeney's preferred 4-3 base and they play indoors on the turf he needs. At age 33, the Colts' all-time leading sack man and seven-time Pro Bowler will have to settle for a short-term, incentive-laden deal. The Falcons have also been mentioned as a potential suitor.

Right, I just think he could get there too from what I have heard and watched from videos of his I have seen the past week or so.

Its all a moot point anyway.
