When did trades start again. I didn't think trades could happen until free agency started.

They don't. The trade doesn't officially happen until March. It is just an announcement that they've come to an agreement.

Fletcher is okay on running plays but can not keep up with Tight Ends.

Exactly how we did it for last year. Gotcha.

You can agree to a trade - like we did with the Ras last year for the 1st overall pick - but the trade does not become official until the start of the league year.

We have to be under by 12 March when the 2013 league year starts.
Ok, thanks for clearing that up. I probably could've taken a second and found that out myself, but when I got DC9 carrying the load why should I do anything?

I have always liked Pat White. He is my back-up in Madden, lol.

Am not sure there is a big drop off from Morgan to Hankerson -- Hankerson apparently has become a good blocker, too.
That's not an unfair statement regarding Morgan and Hank. However, you are that much stronger with Morgan and Hank. Do you think we can get someone else in here for any less than $4 mil to replace Morgan?

The Baltimore Sun says the Ravens are expected to allow free agent CB Cary Williams to hit the open market.
This has been the thinking all along since the season ended. Williams wants a ton of money, and his agent expects him to "very much be wanted by many teams." Baltimore has plenty of capable in-house replacements, and Williams isn't expected back. He has a knack for giving up the big play, and some team may overvalue him in free agency.

The Ravens are expected to resume talks with free agent ILB Dannell Ellerbe later this week.
The two sides met at the Combine, and talks reportedly "went well." Although they'll have conversations again this week, it's still unlikely that a deal will be struck until the Joe Flacco situation has been handled. Ellerbe, 27, currently checks in as our No. 2 free-agent inside linebacker.

The Cowboys restructured DeMarcus Ware's contract, converting $5 million of his base salary into a signing bonus.
Ware is due $6 million between salary and bonuses. The move clears up $4 million in cap space. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Cowboys plan to rework the contracts of "about a dozen more players" before the start of free agency on March 12.

Former Jets and Bucs WR Wallace Wright has signed with the CFL's Montreal Alouettes.
Montreal is Marc Trestman's old stomping grounds. Wright has appeared in 51 career NFL games, but none since 2009. He was among the Bucs' first cuts last summer.

SI's Jim Trotter "(doesn't) see" the 49ers making a run at Jets CB Darrelle Revis.
It's just an opinion, but Trotter follows the 49ers closely. According to Trotter, the 49ers don't believe in renting "big money" players, and are unlikely to give Revis "huge money" on a long-term deal. If that's the case, Revis will likely steer his services elsewhere unless the 49ers are willing to pay the Jets full price for a one-year rental.

The Cincinnati Enquirer considers it "more likely" that the Bengals let the open market establish free agent RT Andre Smith's price than apply the franchise tag.
The Bengals have two readymade franchise-tag candidates in Smith and RE Michael Johnson, but Johnson is considered a more likely recipient of the tag. The Bengals are among the league leaders in cap space, but all bets will be off if Smith reaches the open market coming off a breakout campaign.

So... looks like Andre Smith may get come out and play a little. We'll have to see if he's ready to dance with the devil in the pale moonlight, so to speak.

Morgan is worth his money and will surprise a lot of people when he is completely healthy.

Don't know how Morgan's contract is structured but if we can save money, we should....His production doesn't merit the contract he got

Hankerson, Garcon, Moss, Robinson -- and perhaps another WR drafted could hold the fort. It's not that am looking to dump him but to me its all about trade offs -- would I rather have Morgan and another player gone or Keenan Lewis? I'd take Lewis or whatever trade offs are in play.
Except you save almost no cap this year by releasing Morgan.

DC9... Are you that much stronger with Morgan and Hank? I'm a believer in a guy needing reps to get in a flow and Hankerson seems like that type. They rode him in that game at Miami and he was on point. I think with consistent reps and looks, he can handle it. I just think Morgan is very average and isn't worth the contrat we gave him....maybe the injuries are to blame, but it is what it is....
