The truth is, well from what I understand, all of the teams did what we did, but we did it to a much further extent, and the cowboys a little lesser extent, this is why the penalties were enforced.
We also used this year to unload a substantial amount of Haynesworthless', Haynesworth signed a seven-year, $100 million contract with the Washington Redskins on the first day of free agency, February 27, 2009.The deal was expected to pay Haynesworth $32 million in the first 13 months.
(I could be very wrong the money being referred too may have came off the year earlier, un-capped year being 2010 and his contract signing in '09)
That's all fine and good, but it still doesn't explain why what the Skins did was "unfair", nor how whatever competitive advantage that resulted over the rest of the league was "unfair".

If the Redskins were able to do something that none of the other teams were able to do, at least then we'd be on the right track to explaining the "unfair" aspect of this whole stupid mess lol...but that wasn't the case.

Goodell said there was no gentlemen's agreement to not overspend in 2010. So if that's the case, the continuous question to Goodell should be "WTF was the competitive advantage the Redskins received and how the **** was it unfair?"...the ONLY thing ever said along those lines in terms of an answer was that teams were warned not to dump large parts of salaries in the uncapped year. Verbally warned, I guess, because there seems to be nothing in writing saying this. But even that doesn't explain the competitive advantage and how it's unfair.

Nah I don't think so. I think it's more a comment based on all the other signings and big money going around the NFL than it is like he's saying we're going to sign someone and he's excited to see who it is.

I think it's more along the lines of, IF we're gonna jump through hoops to give someone a decent amount of guaranteed money, it won't be someone like Alexander.

It's not that they can't do it, it's that if they do it for Lorenzo, then they have a harder time doing it for someone else. Sorry, but you don't start screwing with future cap space for backup LBs. But you might do it for a starting safety or starting RT.

OOO believe me I am not arguing with you at all, I completely agree with what you are saying, I'm just telling what I think the (bogus)basis of our penalty was from what I have heard over the year.

Well, time for some shut eye, catch you fellas tomorrow.

Dude, the only player we've had recently that had anything to do or say or was in the know when it came to this kind of stuff was Portis. And it's not exactly like that was a confirmed fact. You really think our #5 receiver knows anything more than we do at this point? He's probably off on vacation somewhere or hanging with the family while we as fans spend hours on here every day lol. He's just sending a meaningless tweet man.

I was thinking he might know we are strapped but is boys with Trent and knows he just restructured or something like that. Just saying, kind of a random thing to tweet when it's well known we have no money lol

Just so you know, I understood you were just trying to do the impossible and find logic to the NFL's stance ...I didn't assume it was your personal view you were writing.
