Seriously, we need to avoid that black hole. We still don't know what galaxy Royal went to.

^^ Yeah, this board was pretty much unanimous last year about wanting him. Some were absolutely devastated the Chiefs got him over us and that he didn't even come in for a visit.

He is what you'd call a prototype.

Only gave up 3 sacks last season. The only others who gave up 3 sacks or less did it in far fewer snaps than Winston. This would be a huge upgrade for the franchise. We have to find room.

We have to get Winston and I believe, wholeheartedly, he was in Shanny's plan last year before the cap penalties were imposed.

Formality at this point, but to keep up with the status quo of the thread:

    Eric Winston - T - Free Agent

    Chiefs released RT Eric Winston.
Winston just signed a four-year, $22 million contract with Kansas City last offseason, but after franchising LT Branden Albert on Monday and there being a plethora of young tackle prospects in the draft, his services were no longer needed. The move saves just $700,000 in cap space. Winston should have plenty of options on the open market. For what it's worth, he's played most of his career in a zone-blocking scheme. A reunion with the Texans would make some sense. The Dolphins, Rams, Ravens, Redskins, and Lions also showed interest in him last offseason. His release clears a path for the Chiefs to take one of Luke Joeckel or Eric Fisher with the No. 1 overall pick in the draft if they so choose.

Winston should want to come to washington cheap after all the money he received the last 2 years lol, will turn 30 in the middle of the season. Williams and Winston at the tackles would be hugeeee for RG3

Profotballfocus graded Eric Winston as the best lineman on what was a decent Chiefs OLine - he graded out ahead of Branden Albert. I think he will get more interest and a higher offer than we can match but he would be a significant upgrade at RT.

My only hope is that he takes fair money for a good team.

And not to be outdone, the Raiders are about to release Rolando McClain. Here come the RoMac and Winston for Fletcher scenarios, lol.

I'll take Brad Jones and Winston for Fletcher's salary and we would be vastly improved because of it

Ro is so played out. Not many Nick Saban recruits have panned out well in the league.
