If we restructure Hall and/or extend Wilson, you won't want to pay starter money to bring someone in and force one of them into the nickel. If you address it through an early draft pick you can have them compete for the nickel position and in years 2-3 be ready to replace Hall once his contract expires. That is the cheaper way to do things, so I think it makes more sense to bring someone in to compete with Minnefield and Crawford and eventually have one of them move in to replace Hall.
I would love to address FS via free agency, but just not sure we can do it that cheaply or without losing one of our own FAs ... if we could find someone like Jairus Byrd in free agency to play FS I would, ideally, like to keep Meriweather around, but we could address SS in the 3rd/4th round, too.
