Yeah... that does throw water on the fire though. Like Suarez dropping a hat trick on Wigan . I would've drafted Minniefield in the 4th round, too, lol. Rooting for him.

The Cleveland Plain Dealer considers OLB Paul Kruger the "best fit" among the Browns free agent targets.
With the Browns moving to a 3-4 defense, Kruger could be signed as a pass-rusher to complement Jabaal Sheard in Ray Horton's aggressive, blitz-heavy scheme. Rotoworld ranks Kruger as the No. 5 free agent available this offseason.

The Miami Herald mentions free agent LT Sam Baker as an option for the Dolphins.
Baker is injury-prone and struggles in run-blocking, but the Herald suggests him as a short-term answer to replace Jake Long. The Dolphins are hoping to keep second-round pick Jonathan Martin at right tackle.

Chargers FS Eric Weddle said he would be willing to restructure his deal in order to create cap space.
Weddle is due $6 million in 2013, so he could reduce his cap number by converting his base salary into a signing bonus. Phillip Rivers has also told the Chargers that he would be open to restructuring his contract. San Diego is currently around $8 million under the salary cap.

It was a tongue in cheek comment because he worries more about the knock out hit and was overpaid, similar to Landry. Nice reply though.

The Baltimore Sun says the Colts will "probably" pursue free agent CB Cary Williams.
Williams isn't going to be back with the Ravens, and landing in Indianapolis with his former defensive boss, Chuck Pagano, makes a ton of sense. The Colts are really weak in the defensive backfield, and pairing Williams with Vontae Davis would make a capable duo. In January, Williams thought he might be worth $8-10 million annually, but there's no chance he gets that kind of money.

The Baltimore Sun says "there is speculation" that free agent ILB Dannell Ellerbe is seeking $25-30 million on a multi-year deal.
Ellerbe, 27, is part of a weak inside linebacker free-agent market, and he's coming off a season where he filled in admirably for the injured Ray Lewis. The Ravens are expected to turn their attention to Ellerbe now that Joe Flacco's deal is done, but beat writer Mike Preston says if Ellerbe wants that kind of cash, Baltimore should let him go. He's a fine player versus the run.

One of free agent Randy Moss' 49ers teammates thinks the receiver will play one more season.
"I think Randy wants to play again," said another teammate. "I'm just not sure he wants to go to another team and have to learn another system." If Moss can't find a contender willing to sign him, it's expected that he will hang up the cleats -- again. We don't expect teams to be beating Moss' door down for his services.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution says it "appears" that Steven Jackson will be the Falcons' top target in free agency.
This coincides with what the St. Louis Post-Dispatch speculated and Yahoo! Sports' Jason Cole gathered from the Combine last week. Jackson would be a perfect fit with the Falcons in their up-tempo offense as a guy who can run between the tackles and catch the ball out of the backfield. The Journal-Constitution says he and Jacquizz Rodgers could "split" duties, but Jackson would be the obvious player to own in fantasy.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution expects free agent SS William Moore to get five years and $25-30 million on his next contract.
We'd say those numbers are a bit conservative, but they're close. Tennessee signed Michael Griffin to a five-year, $35 million contract with $15 million guaranteed last offseason as he was entering his age-27 season, and Moore is arguably a better player as he enters his age-28 campaign. Atlanta does not intend to use the franchise tag before Monday's deadline.

Restricted free agent ILB Rob Francois is not expected to be tendered an offer by the Packers.
Francois appeared in all 16 games for the Packers last season, but he didn't play a single snap on defense. The special-teamer recorded 13 tackles, and the $1.323 million low tender is too rich for Green Bay's taste. However, Francois isn't ruling out a return at the veteran's minimum.

Free agent Byron Leftwich isn't expected back with the Steelers.
Fellow free agent Charlie Batch, 38, is expected to return on a one-year deal and hold down the fort until a younger, developmental quarterback is in place. One name that the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette mentions as a possibility in the middle rounds of the draft is Miami of Ohio's Zac Dysert.

Huh ... 5 years $25-30 million for Moore ... who is arguably the best S on the market aside from Goldson ... that's a lot cheaper than I expected. I wonder what Kenny Phillips might want? If you can have Phillips for 5 years $25 ... I bet you can have that 2013 cap number at $3.5m and have a good chunk spread into 2014. That's nice to know ... we may be able to get one of the top safeties for $3.5 in 2013 ...and someone like Corey Lynch could maybe be had for 4 years $15 million ... and get that 2013 number around $2.5m

he Charlotte Observer expects the Panthers to explore free agent WRs Ramses Barden and Domenik Hixon.
Connecting the dots with this is easy. New GM Dave Gettleman came over from the Giants and knows Hixon and Barden quite well. Beat writer Joe Person suspects Barden "could thrive" in the Panthers' vertical passing game. Carolina saw firsthand what Barden can do. He had the best game of his career in Week 3 in Carolina, catching nine passes for 138 yards.

The Charlotte Observer says the Panthers would like to re-sign free agent CB Captain Munnerlyn.
Munnerlyn started 11 games in 2012, but that was pretty much by default after Josh Norman failed in his opportunity. Munnerlyn is better suited as a sure-tackling nickel corner and special teams player. He shouldn't be too pricey in a loaded free-agent corner market.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport hears that free agent LT Jake Long is seeking $11 million per year on his next contract.
The Miami Herald reported late in January that Long was looking for upwards of $10 million annually, so this coincides with that. The Dolphins are reportedly only willing to give him around $6-7 million per year, so his chances of returning are looking slim if what Rapoport is hearing is true. Our own Evan Silva predicts a re-signing with the Dolphins for five years and $37.5 million. The Bears have also been mentioned as a landing spot.

The Titans are expected to assign the franchise tag to Jared Cook on Monday.
Cook will get the $6.066 million franchise number for tight ends, but he's expected to fight for the receiver number of $10.537 million. The Players Association is expected to back him in the argument. Cook lined up either in the slot or out wide on 67 percent of his snaps, per Mike Clay's charted stats. He's going to have a strong case. No matter what happens, expect OC Dowell Loggains to put a greater emphasis on utilizing Cook in the passing game.

The New York Post mentions free agents Donnie Avery and Brian Hartline as options for the Jets.
Avery makes a lot more sense. He'll be cheaper for the cap-strapped Jets, and he's a deep threat that Gang Green lacks at the moment. Plus, Avery is more of a role player. The Jets appear to have a set starting trio at receiver in Santonio Holmes, Jeremy Kerley, and Stephen Hill -- not that it's a good group.

The New York Post expects the Jets to re-sign free agent Braylon Edwards.
Edwards was signed prior to Week 15 last year after being released by the Seahawks, and he proved to be the team's best receiver. He offers a big target for scatter-shot Mark Sanchez, and Edwards is also a solid locker room presence. He'll come cheaply.

That's why we would be smart to Charger's S Corey Lynch. He would be alot less and he wants the opportunity to start which he would have here.

And we'd be able to spend more money elsewhere as well as re-sign our own players.

Exactly. I'm on the Toler/Lynch train. The only concern I have with Toler is Arizona wants him and the Giants are interested in him too.

Yes, but we have RG3 ... and before you laugh ... that might actually be the tie-break for many players. The spotlight will always be on this team, and thus, on them.
