Michael Bennett - DL - Buccaneers The Tampa Bay Times believes free agent DE Michael Bennett has "probably played his last game for the Bucs."
Per beat writer Rick Stroud, Bennett is "bound to have a higher maket value to other teams than he does to the Bucs," who apparently only view him as a nickel rusher. Bennett is expected to be a hot commodity in a market bereft of young pass rushers. Bennett notched nine sacks last season after registering just five in 27 games between 2010-11. Brandon Moore - G - Jets ESPN Chicago reports the Bears have "explored" free agent OG Brandon Moore.
Going on 33, Moore said Thursday he's had "surprisingly" little contact with the Jets. He's likely moving on from Gang Green, and would be a strong addition for a Bears team that neglected offensive line play for most of the Lovie Smith era. Related: BearsSource: Mike C. Jacoby Ford - WR - Raiders Raiders WR Jacoby Ford (Lisfranc surgery) has resumed running routes.
"It's not quite 100 percent, but it's coming along really well," Ford said. "I am back to running routes and feel pretty good about my straight-ahead full speed. And I have been cutting on it." Ford "definitely" expects to be 100 percent for camp. Source: San Francisco Chronicle Mar 8 - 10:48 AM
Mike Wallace - WR - Steelers According to ESPN 1500 Twin Cities, the Vikings "will and can" pursue free agent Mike Wallace.
Per reporter Tom Pelissero, the question is whether they're willing to "perhaps overpay." Wallace has designs on becoming the NFL's third highest-paid receiver. With 13 hours to go before agents can begin negotiating with teams, Wallace has two clear suitors in the Vikings and Dolphins. More will emerge shortly. Jake Locker - QB - Titans Jake Locker doesn't believe his struggles are an "issue of accuracy."
Locker made waves in a Thursday radio interview when he suggested he wasn't worried about his completion percentage. "It’s just understanding the situations you’re in, when you can take checkdowns, when you can force it down the field," Locker said. "Those are things that can improve the completion percentage, rather than just overall accuracy and missing throws. So I think it’s just understanding the game a little more." However he wants to frame it, Locker needs to complete more passes in 2013. Source: Nashville Tennessean Mar 8 - 10:26 AM
William Moore - DB - Falcons The Falcons have "ramped up" negotiations with free agents William Moore and Sam Baker.
Moore is the Falcons' top priority, but it remains unclear where Baker ranks. WIth the tackle market flooded with talent, it could be in the Falcons' best interest to let Baker test free agency and be greeted by soft interest. Related: Sam BakerSource: Atlanta Journal-Constitution Mar 8 - 10:13 AM
Jerraud Powers - DB - Colts The Colts are trying to re-sign CB Jerraud Powers before the start of free agency.
"They are making a concerted effort to get something done," Powers' agent said. "They’ve made it clear they want him and Jerraud has made it clear he wants to stay." Powers' rep did add "we’re also aware there will be a market for him." The Colts aren't going to keep Powers for less than market value. Source: Indianapolis Star Mar 8 - 10:09 AM
Louis Delmas - DB - Lions Free agent FS Louis Delmas is taking a physical with the Lions on Friday.
It's an indication the sides are nearing a new deal. Thanks to knee and groin issues, Delmas has missed a combined 13 games the past two seasons. His knee reportedly "clouded his future" with the Lions, but his physical should provide some clarity. Delmas will most likely remain in the Motor City. Bucs may take their time before cutting Eric Wright

Pondering a thought... let's hear some words on this...
Say we cut Santana, hypothetically, and with the questions going on with Amendola/Santana....
Would it be a smart decision to sign someone like, say, Louis Murphy out of Carolina for the slot?
He'd be cheaper (only made 1.2m in 2012), had a down year, and would undoubtedly be the fastest guy on our team with decent hands. But does he provide anything more than Aldrick Robinson would?
For the proverbial start, yes... lol. But this feels a little anti-climatic:

He's fast with hands, but as far as providing more than Aldrick, I'd say reps on the field?

But we're not talking 'big payday' with Tana. I'm not talking about giving him best WR in the NFL money. We're talking Hartline/Amendola money.
Last part first. Its up to the OC to build schemes around players. If you sign Danny as your #2 WR I would argue you're gonna have to scheme as much if not more to get open then with Tana but I digress....
Tana's lowest YPC season is higher then Danny's best year. I don't think their on the same tier in terms of ability. Tana has been productive as a #1,#2 and now as highly effectively slot that can still play outside. Danny has been used mainly as slot guy whose production doesn't match Tana's.
If you were the GM and you just saw Hartline get 6mil/per and imagine its true that Amendola will get 6mil/per
Knowing what Tana means to this team/offense/Robert what would you pay him?
How much do you think he would garner on the open market?
Hope that birdie is wrong.I would rather keep Polumbus than sign Pashos.
um whut? Tony Pashos.....
I just threw up in my mouth a little
cannot be true...
Who did Miami have besides Hartline? They traded Marshall before the season and used Reggie out of the backfield.
Same with the Rams. They haven't had a #1 WR since Sam Bradford was drafted there. We have a better receiving corps than both teams, IMO.
I say that because teams (except us apparently) knew that Amendola was the key to beating the Rams offense. Shut him down and you win more often than not.
As for the first point, most teams don't sign a player like Moss unless you think he'll boost ticket sales or he'll be what you have been missing for a Super Bowl run. He's 34 years old. There is not a long term future in that type of player.
My example was exclusively about the Packers. Amendola would thrive in that offense. Moss might initially. But no one is going to commit $6 million off of what you did the year prior to someone who is 34 years old.
