To those who responded to my K. Cousins post, I can appreciate your feedback good, bad or indifferent. I still don't believe Cousins is the answer if RG3 cannot go and I don't think anyone here believes he is the answer THIS year. So why not sign someone with more experience in the Free Agent Market. I would like to see us go beyond the first round of playoffs, especially if we get Seattle again.

Everyone is intitled to their opinion. Mine is I would rather have KC than any of the castoff FA available. He won two games already and it did not appear that the game was too big for him. That and he is cheaper by far than a QB veteran.

I am confused by this post...Vick was a backup when he came back from prison....Aaron Rodgers was drafted as an eventual replacement for Brett Favre and Kapernick to eventually start for smith....Cousins is also going to be starting somewhere...what more do you wanT?

None of those SB contenders have the backup QB you are referring to because teams can't afford to keep 2 starting caliber QBs on the roster. Does anyone know Atlanta's backup for Matt Ryan?

Because we can't afford a veteran QB. Do you not see our cap situation? And a healthy Griffin will be leading us by the playoffs, so moot point.

I am confused by this post...those are starters...and the 49ers dont have smith anymore so who even knows who their backup is at this point. Or the packers....and nick foles? come on dude try harder.

I thnk he may have been referring to those guys in the past. Rodgers backed up Favre, Kaepernick backed up Smith and Vick backed up McNabb. So ... 3 situations in the last 7 years where the back up ended up being better than the starter? Cool. Cousins could very well get to that level, who knows? Would love to be in the position SD was back in 2005 when they traded Brees and rolled with Rivers. Hopefully Kirk improves his stock to the level where we can get some compensation ... if not for the RG injury we may have shipped him this off-season given the desperation some teams are reeking with their QB situations.
