You just can't factor in age and that's not what I'm doing. The FO has been vigilant in getting guys on their 2nd contracts (25-27 yrs old), guys who fit the scheme, guys who fit the cap and guys with good attitudes. Not say Nnamdi has a bad attitude, but I think the FO is looking for a particular type of player and I don't think he is what they are looking for. Now, I could be wrong, but I'm going to err on the side that says they say no.

People may think it sounds stupid but I read this article today on The Penalty Flag and it would make sense if Anquan Boldin was available. There was a report on ESPN saying the Ravens were looking to deal Boldin in the offseason and now with Flacco wanting all this money, they will have to make some cap room....

Guys, enough with the bitching and moaning... PJ if someone does start a thread on Nmandi, who cares, let the mods take care of it. IMO, what you said was not bad though and it didn't warrant a reply.

I like Anquan Boldin, but IMO he is Pierre Garcon #2. He is a possession receiver. No sense in cutting Moss for a guy who will probably cost more than Moss and provide the same thing.

Also, what could we possibly trade for Boldin? Draft picks, no!

If I am trading for a receiver, it will be for someone like Danario Alexander out of San Diego who is new to the league and has all the potential in the world for our young team. You don't replace aging vets with aging vets.

The single, best move we could make if we were to trade is with the Vikings and grab Percy Harvin. He seems unhappy there and doesn't like playing for Ponder... Seems like an inevitable break up as stated before.

Eh, I wouldn't mind Boldin. But not at the money he'd likely command. We also have Josh Morgan and Hank as possession guys. Danario Alexander would be a huge (literally) get if we were able to get him. 6'4" plus recievers grow on trees in AJ Smith-ville apparently.

Pretty good ranking by PFF on our Offensive Line - #16, putting us just in the top half in the league...

    16. Washington Redskins (27)

    PB – 15th, RB – 19th, PEN – 9th

Stud: It was close, but Trent Williams (+19.7) had himself a heck of a year where he really became the player he was drafted to be. One of these guys that can contribute whatever play you’re running.

Dud: There’s no denying that Tyler Polumbus (-24.1) had some good days, but all too often he was the guy letting the line down. His performance in pass protection is something they should look to upgrade.

Summary: The line took a big step forward this year with Williams exceptional, Will Montgomery establishing himself as one of the better centers out there, and Chris Chester playing up to his contract. The rest of the line? Well, that’s why they’re not any higher.

I've followed him since last year... He's a beast. He's a RFA but I wonder if they will tender him to a high draft pick. He's definitely Rivers #1 target. It'll be interesting to see what the new coach does.

Some news on a thread favorite:

Jared Cook, TE, TEN/FA: For a guy with the measurables and potential that Jared Cook has, he’s sure disappointed a lot of owners in recent years. However, it’s interesting to note that while a guy like Nate Washington ran 563 pass routes, Cook ran only 376 despite his talent. As a result of this and some inconsistency on his part, Cook had a down year. To a savvy owner though, buying low is much better than buying high, and that could be Cook’s situation this year. If he ends up on a new team, Cook could potentially be utilized more consistently with a more consistent QB. Reuniting with Jeff Fisher in St. Louis wouldn’t surprise me at all, and as Cook may be drafted as a TE2, he’s well worth a flier just because of the aforementioned athleticism and 6’5″ frame.

I don't think it makes that much sense that Boldin will be available. In fact I think its highly unlikely that Boldin won't be a Raven next year.
Think about it after they sign Flacco it only makes sense to make re-signing his goto WR next as a priority then Paul Kruger. Guys like Cary Williams, Maake Kemoeatu, Chris Johnson, Billy Bajema, Sean Considine, James Ihedigbo, Ricky Brown, Ryan McBean are all UFA the Ravens will dump long before the big 3 of Boldin, Kruger and Ed Reed.

Didn't see that Semper Fi or anyone else had posted this yet (it's your boy! *Jay-Z voice*):

Vikings coach Leslie Frazier acknowledged that Percy Harvin's future with the team "remains up in the air."
"We definitely had to talk just in general about a lot of things," Frazier said. "We had a good conversation. We talked, and it was good conversation. So, hopefully, everything will work out." The Vikings' plan all along was to redo Harvin's contract once he enters the final year of his rookie deal, and now that the 2012 season is officially over, that time is now. Harvin (ankle) passed his exit physical and is currently scheduled to make $2.9 million in 2013.
Anytime you have to mention that it was a "good conversation" more than once... I'd imagine that it was one sided or not good at all.

    ---------- Post added February-5th-2013 at 02:40 PM ----------

Lions informed RG Stephen Peterman of his release.
The move clears $3.2 million in salary cap space. Peterman started every game at right guard for the cap-strapped Lions in each of the last three years. But he's 31, was owed $2.65 million in base salary, and allowed a league-high (among guards) 36 quarterback hurries in 2012. The Lions do have depth on the offensive line in talented prospect Riley Reiff, but he profiles better as a tackle. By cutting Peterman so early in the offseason, the Lions are also off the hook for his $500,000 March roster bonus and $100,000 reporting bonus. He may resurface on a veteran's minimum deal in free agency.

    Aqib Talib news:
A source tells CSN New England that the Patriots are "somewhat reluctant" to offer impending free agent Aqib Talib a multi-year contract.
Thanks to his history of off-field issues and questionable work ethic, the Pats prefer to sign Talib to a one-year deal. They understandably have questions about how he'd "handle" a long-term contract and boatload of cash, a la Albert Haynesworth. However, New England is unlikely to have that luxury as Talib is the clear No. 1 corner available on the market and is a good bet to attract lucrative multi-year offers. It's a hairy situation for Bill Belichick, as he's getting really thin at corner. Kyle Arrington is also a free agent.

    Dashon Goldson news:

49ers FS Dashon Goldson "made it clear" he does not want the franchise tag for the second straight season.
"There's no security in it," he said. "I've been in this league six years now, going on seven. I think I've done what I had to do to deserve a second contract, period." Tagging Goldson again would cost the 49ers $7.5 million. Coach Jim Harbaugh said Goldson is "somebody I think you reward." Last offseason, Goldson was said to be seeking Eric Weddle money -- five years and $40 million. He's our No. 2 free-agent safety behind Buffalo's Jairus Byrd.
^^^ I know a lot of people like Goldson, but try and keep an eye on these types of things in regards to who else they have as an UFA that's on our list (Tavares Gooden, ILB). Could be a win-win if they don't tag Goldson and sign him long term. I doubt seriously they'd tag Gooden with Bowman and Willis as starters.

Redskins | Two could be options for special teams coaching job
    Thu, 31 Jan 2013 12:19:52 -0800

The Washington Redskins could consider assistant special teams coach Richard Hightower and former Tennessee Titans special teams coach Alan Lowry for their special teams coaching position.
Not sure how and where they came up with those names but if they're going to look at assistant special teams coaches, they should look at Denver's Keith Burns.

He played for Shannahan and has been an assistant with them since he retired back in 2007. He was a special teams standout with them during his career.

He also played and graduated from T.C. Williams in Alexandria.

I kinda want us to spend a 4th/5th on Zaviar Gooden, if the dood is truely as good in coverage as analyst are saying. He could be a hybrid LB/SS type that can cover TE well.
