Yes that's true. The Article should be in the OP unless it's just a tweet, but nothing ever came out after that date with any details.

We still need to resign/tender our RFA's too.

I gather it likely was voided but to your point weird nothing has come out since the articles saying the contract will expire. If they did do it that way they'd save 1.3 mill for the cap if they waited until June apparently it would be 3.5 mill for the cap.

But if they could wait until June 1, they'd save $3.5M RT @AndrewLiv @Rich_Campbell Anything saved will help

We'll have to wait & see what happens w/ Brown's salary & its affect on the Redskins' 2013 salary cap. Voided deal would save Skins $1.3M

If they waited until Jun 1 it will help this year, but it will accellerate into next year and cost us 5-7 mil? I forget the actual number. The smart thing to do with Brown is to let it get eaten this season.

Ramses Barden - WR - Giants The Giants have interest in re-signing free agent Ramses Barden, but will let him hit the open market.
"We have spoken and they do have interest in re-signing him," Barden's rep said. "(But) we agreed that he’ll test the market and see how it unfolds." Translation, if Barden is back in New York, it will be on the Giants' terms. The 2009 third-round pick has just 29 catches through four seasons, nine of which came against the Panthers last Week 3. Barden's 6-foot-6, 224 pounds may intrigue a few teams on the open market, but his tape won't do him any more favors than his numbers.

Cullen Jenkins - DL - Free Agent Free agent DE Cullen Jenkins is interested in returning to the Packers.
Jenkins never wanted to leave Green Bay in 2011, and the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel isn't shooting down the notion of a reunion. Particularly with Jerel Worthy coming off a major knee injury, Jenkins could help the Packers at right end. Related: Packers

Giants SLB Mathias Kiwanuka has agreed to convert $1.5 million of his 2013 base salary into a signing bonus, freeing up cap space.
The $1.5 million was already a guaranteed portion of Kiwanuka's $2.95 million salary. So he's not losing any money. The simple restructure will give the G-Men a better chance to re-sign key free agents Martellus Bennett and Will Beatty. Kiwanuka, 30, managed just 37 tackles and three sacks as a 2012 role player.

In addition to the Steelers and Browns, the Titans have "some interest" in free agent Steve Breaston.
Breaston has already visited the Steelers and will meet with the Browns on Tuesday. The Titans are not known to have set up a visit yet. Breaston, 29, is a middling talent despite solid statistics posted with Kurt Warner at quarterback in Arizona. He's a No. 3-caliber wide receiver at absolute best.

No one is really saying much on this front ... I know Dallas has some talent on that team, but the really are staring at a ton of holes in front of them heading into the off-season and having to cut all that money. I know they'll do it, but at what expense to their team quality? Something tells me Jerry may be looking to re-boot his franchise. Get some bad contracts off the books, move on from Romo and angle for Johnny Manziel in a year. It depends on what Dallas ends up doing, but I could see them as a candidate to have an Eagles-like fall in 2013. I'm talking 4-12/5-11. The only real competition I view for the Redskins in 2013 in division is the Giants ... and even they are facing some cuts.
Yup, and it goes to show just how well Allen has managed the cap for us even WITH those disgustingly unjust penalties. Heck, if they never even dumped Haynesworth's and Hall's money in the uncapped season, we'd be a good $5 million or so under right now.

Not just how we are spending and how it's doled out, but who we are picking.

The Eagles release Cullen Jenkins... Stephen Bowen has played at a Pro Bowl level for a 3-4 DE for the last two seasons. It was between those two during the crazy one week FA period we had.

If you aren't content/impressed with the job of this FO, you don't know football.

Yup, Josh Wilson over Nnamdi Asomugha, Chris Chester over a bunch of other linemen that got big money that year... signing Cofield and Bowen to contracts with great value starter-wise even though these guys were back ups on their previous teams. Heck, even the McNabb deal was a good one since it allowed us to move him with no harm done.

We gave a 2nd and a 4th round pick to a division rival, there was harm done

"JTPartlow21: #Redskins have indeed shown interest in #Cardinals FA Greg Toler. Spoke briefly to his agent who also reps Ellerbe and Leodis McKelvin."

Im liking the fact that both toler an mckelvin share the same agent!

Fred Davis - TE - Redskins "Several people familiar with the situation" tell the Washington Post the Redskins still hope to recoup some of the salary-cap space the NFL took away as punishment for dumping contracts into the uncapped year of 2010.
"They have a plan," one source said. "(They) have very good arguments." The Redskins have already been shot down in arbitration, so it's unclear what their "plan" might be. According to the Post, team officials have told players and agents they "cannot negotiate in earnest until the salary cap matter is resolved." They're hoping to have a resolution before the end of the week. It's highly unlikely the situation changes.

I'm talking in regards to the cap, not the overall move. I mean, just look at the context of my post. And I said "McNabb deal" on top of that, not trade.

I get it though, we've got to complain about something.

So what the hell does this mean?

MarkMaske ‏@MarkMaske Redskins officials have told some within league they are contemplating seeking injunction to hold up free agency, or threatening that.
