Probably the best comparison. It's also why the Bills don't want to tag him, apparently if they did, he'd be getting 3 million over his estimated market value.

So anywhere from a 4 to 5.5 M cap hit in 2013 depending on how creative Allen is with structuring. Not horrible, but not cheap either. I can't imagine how deep/talented good we could be without a 36M dent in our spending budget the last 2 years. So annoying.

Crazy to me that the NFL considers all OL positions the same under the tag. Makes no sense, and it's why you hardly ever see interior linemen tagged.

SemperFi, preeshiate you picking it up this morning. Work was a ***** today, brother:

The state of free agent FS Louis Delmas' troublesome knee has "clearly clouded his future" with the Lions.
Lions GM Martin Mayhew conceded as much at the Combine. Various injuries have cost Delmas 13 games over the past two seasons, but the knee appears to be the club's biggest concern. If healthy, Delmas would be commanding top dollar.

Coach Chuck Pagano is "keeping his fingers crossed" and hopes the Colts re-sign free agent CB Jerraud Powers.
"If he’s not [playing for us], he’s going to be playing for somebody and playing good football," said Pagano. Powers is part of a deep free-agent cornerback class, so he could likely be re-signed at a reasonable price. The Colts would be wise to aim higher, though.

Rams GM Les Snead confirms that the team will not use the franchise tag.
Danny Amendola was the only real option, and he isn't worth the $10-plus million price as an injury-prone slot receiver. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch recently said Amendola and the Rams are "far apart" in talks, so it's looking like he'll be able to test the market. The Rams remain interested in his services.

No worries, bro. I just post what I can. I'm usually off of here on the weekends and have to play 'catch up.'

I wonder if we go after someone like EJ Biggers with Allen's and R. Morris's familiarity... I wouldn't mind him coming here. Only 25 years old, speedy, starter capability.

He's a good sideline guy as well. You'll laugh, but I always pick him up in Madden for a few years

@ryanohalloran #Jaguars will meet with agent for CB Derek Cox tomorrow in Indy. Sullivan expects Cox to hit FA and there to be a "vigorous market" for him.

It's funny how the knack on him is the game where he had just come in, in place of Talib and went up against Calvin Johnson and surrendered 152 yards to him... Who the hell can actually cover Calvin Johnson all day? I'd be pretty impressed if we could bring him in. I think he's more reasonable and in our reach as opposed to some of the other big names but who knows. Lots of CB's out there this year which is a damn good thing

With such a large market of CB's, there will definitely be some affordable guys who normally wouldn't be if it was slim pickings... we are very fortunate this happened on a cap strap year.

He and Toler would be Josh Wilson type signings for me. Wilson isn't lights out, but he's a 60-70% player. Anytime you are winning more than you are losing you are doing well. With good Safety play and a pass rush that's a trio that can do some damage.

That's just it... with the lack of our pass rush and over the top help, Revis, Talib combo with Richard Sherman in the slot would have looked bad back there... Can't allow that much time for QB's and if it's bump and run, we need those safeties to do their damn job... Yea, i'm pointing at you Ma-doo-doo Williams.

When I was at a selection course in October one of the guys I was there with was room mates with Madoo-doo, lol. He was room mates/team mates with him at Towson (I think?) or wherever he went to school before he transferred to Maryland and he said he still talks to him. This was right after the Vikings game pick 6, so I humored him. But he said that Williams was the biggest Redskins fan when they lived together and he was so happy to be playing here. All of that said, I knew what we were in for with him when Luck was picking on him in the pre-season.

I'm confident in Bruce and Mikey, this won't be an issue next year.

From what I have read Cox is good but can't stay healthy.

Something about that team leads me to believe that a lot of guys took time off, a la the 2009 Redskins. I have no proof, just a hunch that the franchise is fundementally unaccountable to itself.

That said, I wouldn't want any prima donnas on this team, RWJ.

Absolutely. We have Toler targeted and I hope we can land him.

Chris Canty visiting Packers and Jaguars.

    ---------- Post added February-22nd-2013 at 06:17 PM ----------

    Here is the rotosum:

Free agent DT Chris Canty has scheduled meetings with the Packers and Jaguars for after the NFL Combine.
Canty visited the Titans and Chiefs before the NFL convened in Indy. A 6-foot-7, 317-pound 30-year-old, Canty still has good football left in his tank assuming he can stay healthy. He's also capable of fitting both 3-4 and 4-3 schemes.

    ---------- Post added February-22nd-2013 at 06:20 PM ----------

Bucs GM Mark Dominik ruled out the possibility of using the franchise tag this offseason.
Despite Da'Quan Bowers' weapons arrest, free agent Michael Bennett will not be tagged. He was Tampa's only real franchise candidate. The Bucs still want to re-sign Bennett and very well may do so before free agency opens on March 12.
