NFL.com's Ian Rapoport says to "watch the Eagles" on free agent DL Ricky Jean-Francois.
Rapoport's advice came in a tossed-off reply on Twitter, but it's the second team Jean-Francois has been linked to in the past two days. The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reported Monday that the Packers are interested. The Sideline View's Adam Caplan reported believes as many as 5-6 teams could pursue the reserve D-lineman if he reaches the open market. It's looking like Jean-Francois has played his last snap in San Francisco

Free agent WR Steve Breaston will meet with the Steelers on Thursday or Friday.
Breaston is from the Pittsburgh area, knows offensive coordinator Todd Haley from their time together with the Cardinals and free agent Mike Wallace is moving on. The fit almost seems too perfect. The Cowboys, Browns and Titans also reportedly have interest in Breaston.

An NFL source tells the Arizona Republic that the Cardinals are "exploring the possibility" of trading for Alex Smith.
Per the source, "no deal is in place." That means the Cardinals are not the team that was previously reported to have a deal effectively done with the Niners. That team was likely the Chiefs, but that doesn't mean San Francisco will stop shopping Smith around ahead of the league's new year on March 12. By pitting teams against each other, they can maximize the haul they'll get for their former starting quarterback.

I for one am ready to see KL go.
Love the effort he put in, but he just couldn't get it done at the POA on runs to the left, and was absolutely eaten alive on stunts, add that to his 10 penalties this year and I'd like to see him walk and let Lerib take his place.
Barry Cofield is LEGIT... no more nonsense about we need a "real" NT... HE IS THE REAL DEAL!!!! He goes to the Pro Bowl this year, book it!!!

That is the best news I've heard in a while, hope he comes back with a purpose...and on the Skins.

That is great news although it seems really early for him to be fully cleared after an achilles. Despite all the differing opinions of what people think will happen, I just cannot see us letting an offensive weapon like Davis, especially at his age, leave for another team. Coming off an injury and a suspension before that, he will certainly be a player who's value on the field exceeds his next contract. Shanahan has always been a fan and was very complimentary of both Davis and Trent Williams coming off their suspensions concerning their work ethic and attitudes. I can't imagine not re-signing him.

Ribs was nasty in the running game. I think he got his first pancake as an NFL lineman on his first full series vs the Cowboys. And he rolled that dude up like a cigar.

Where he needs to improve this offseason is in the pass protections game. He has quick enough feet, he just needs to find that balance where he doesn't get pushed back. He got better with reps last year.

As for Kory, for me it depends on his price. But I'd like to keep him around as a back G/C at least.

Rumor is he is here to play End but I'm sure he'll get a shot at all three.

Apparently not when you are up for a contract. And that is what is worrying me. This will be a tough decision and I don't envy the man that has to make it.

Ben Roethlisberger - QB - Steelers NFL.com reports the Steelers are renegotiating Ben Roethlisberger's contract, and could reach an agreement "by the end of the week."
Per reporter Albert Breer, the restructuring won't take place in the form of an extension. Roethlisberger's current cap number is a prohibitive $19.595 million, $11.6 million of which comes in the form of his base salary. A good chunk of that should be converted to a bonus, which can be prorated over the final three years of Roethlisberger's deal. He's signed through 2015.
    Source: NFL.com Feb 26 - 2:56 PM

Looks like the Steelers are about to clear a ton of cap room by some 'side deal' shady business with Big Ben as well... We might as well restructure our whole team with bonuses. Hell, lets just pay them all with cash and clear 122 million off the books.
