If the Redskins go out and sign FS Ryan Mundy, extend Josh Wilson and restructure DeAngelo Hall ... I wouldn't be surprised if our picks go:
    2) WR
    3) CB
    4) RT
    5) RB
    5) ILB
    6) SS
    7) OLB

Get some projects at S and address other needs ... look safety in next year's draft to replace Meriweather.

I might, what's the last name? Remember, it has been a while. . Allen was pretty cool though, I remember the day Gerry Faust came by and asked him to come to ND.

Sounds a little familiar. I went to all the games, but I was in the band so I had to. Those were good times.

Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News considers free agent LT Will Beatty an option for the Giants' franchise tag.
Vacchiano "hears" that re-signing Beatty is the Giants' highest priority among their own free agents, and that coincides with what ESPN New York has been saying since the season ended. The franchise number for Beatty would be about $9.7 million, but the team's preference is a long-term deal. Vacchiano doesn't envision the G-Men using the tag, but Beatty would be the most likely option if the team feels an extension can be worked out before the season.

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reiterated that free agent Rashard Mendenhall is not expected to re-sign with the Steelers.
Nearly a month ago, the paper put Mendenhall's odds of returning at "not good," and those seem to have only gotten worse or stayed the same. Mendenhall, 25, would probably be best to sign a one-year, prove-it deal to rehab his market after a disappointing season coming off a torn ACL. The Steelers have just Baron Batch under contract in the backfield.

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette says the Steelers' coaches want James Harrison back in 2013.
It doesn't say anything about the front office, though. Harrison's $6.57 million salary is a bit steep for a soon-to-be 35-year-old who has battled injuries the past two seasons. Pittsburgh could also save $5.1 million against the cap by releasing Harrison before June 1, but he has said he'd be open to a restructuring, not a pay cut.

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette says there's a "good chance" the Steelers re-sign ILB Larry Foote to a one-year deal.
Foote, 32, has been a Steeler for his entire career aside from a one-year stop in Detroit that didn't work out as planned. The 11-year veteran started all 16 games in 2012 and is the team's defensive play-caller. Foote has slowed down, but he did set career-highs in tackles (113) and sacks (four) last season. He said after the season that he wants to play for Pittsburgh or retire.

The Titans are not expected to re-sign free agent LB Gerald McRath.
McRath missed the entire 2012 season after tearing his left patellar tendon. Prior to that, he had appeared in 30 games in his first three seasons, starting 12. In a weak free-agent class for 4-3 outside linebackers, the talented and lanky McRath could be a bargain buy.

Looks like franchise tag rumors are starting to come out. I'll make sure I update on the OP as soon as we get more factual info. As of right now we have:

    Broncos tagging Clady
    Giants tagging Beatty
    Titans tagging Cook

Things are starting to shape up.

Clady was way too expensive anyway, and I still like a healthy Davis more than Cook. Beatty would have been nice, but the moment he got in the conversation for high LT money, we were done.

Agreed. Same song every year.... early posturing drives up a price within an organization. Rarely do these guys hit the market. Good thing the draft is deep at Tackle.

I wouldn't be mad at that as long as we get Mundy or Lynch.

Aside from grabbing someone like Ryan Harris in FA ... I doubt we can afford to offer money to some of these guys looking for LT money. At least Shanahan drafted Harris and he's 28, so that seems pretty likely. At least bring him in to compete with Compton. That being said, I doubt Shanny goes OT in the 2nd or 3rd ... too many athletic OTs available that he can get in the mid-rounds. So if we were to target OT in the 4th or 5th .. I've seen Xavier Nixon's name thrown around, but how about Kyle Long? I know he's raw ... but I can't peg where he'd go. I saw some early reputable mock drafts putting him in the 2nd round ... but lately I've seen him in the 5th/6th range. He's incredibly athletic and played OT for Oregon's spread offense ... so I would think he would be a great project/potential starter for the mid-rounds.

Just asking, is there anything that actually confirms Kyle has signed a three year deal? I know that TK said it and we should take that as a confirmation but I have yet to actually see anything suggesting this

I don't understand the man love some of you guys have for Ryan Mundy, safety from Pittsburgh. Really? Admittedly, I have not watched video on the guy and only recall watching him casually from time to time on Steelers games (which we get every Sunday here in Harrisburg, PA). But Pro Football Focus, which analyzes every single play has him rated as the #65 out of 88 safeties, equal to DeJon Gomes and worse than Madieu Williams and Reed Doughty. Receivers caught 71 percent of the passes thrown to him and 3 of the 10 were caught for touchdowns. That's one more TD in 2/3 fewer snaps than Williams gave up. QBs had a QB rating of 119.6. His run defense rates out pretty poor also; worse than his pass defense. And 2012 was pretty consistent with his previous years. Looks to be a pretty poor free safety to me.

Corey Lynch, maybe. Ryan Mundy....NO thankyou.
"That's not enough rings," Griffin said. "We've got to get more."
"Alright, Sammy," Griffin said. "I'll see you later."

It's all about competition and value for your dollar. I am not as high on Mundy but Lynch is a bonafide center fielder. Lynch is someone who can simplify coverages for our cornerbacks but who can also cover the whole field deep by himself. Something we haven't had here since 21.

Now, what a guy like Lynch has to have to be successful (because he is weak in the run game) is a good strong safety and front seven. A guy who can play well down in the box to handle that. Yes, a Landry type would be good here, but a draft pick would do well and a healthy Merriweather would do well too.

    Pieces to the puzzle.

Sorry to hijack but you know Chris Graham that's my pops

Hope that helps explain my question of IF he is expendable

    Hail!
To add to that we have a 2nd rd pick that should be fully healthy ready to break out this yr.....and a lot of depth.
