I like Zo, really like him down to earth good dude.
    He's smart and he's a natural leader.
I would only be worried about Zo leaving if London wasn't coming back.
It would help ease the leadership vacuum and he could fit a specific role as a thumper ILB that keeps Riley clean IF Keenan or Muck isn't ready to start.

At the right price Bush would be a fantastic 3rd Down back. But that price will likely not be right for us.

EDIT: Similar guys to look at would be late round scat backs or LaRod Stephens-Howling type backs.

That's where I am at. but if London retires, it frees up more than enough money to sign Zo and get under the cap. And that's before restructures happen.

No. We don't have the necessary means to even think about it as an option.

I'm totally indifferent to him.
No I agree. I'd like him back, but at the right price. He is a very good special teams player but a very average linebacker at best whose main virtue is he can play any of the 4 spots and knows the system well.

I'm not sure he will find a strong market when he hits free agency - he's 30 in May and 30 year old special teams players and reserve linebackers are not going to get big dollars in free agency. I'd let him test the market and leave what we see as our best offer on the table. If he take our offer great, if not we move on.

That's how I'd play it. He thinks he's worth more? By all means, go out and get it and I hope he does get it. He's a stand up dude and everything you ask for in a team player sense... But...

If you come back... the first offer we gave you will be off the table and the only thing available will be a lesser one.

L.Landy is probably going to the #Saints. Not sure if he will get $7 million a year though.

Giants | Two could be asked to take pay cuts or released
New York Giants CB Corey Webster and S Antrel Rolle could be asked to restructure their contracts or be released as the team tries to shed salary before free agency begins.

Giants | David Diehl could be cap casualty
New York Giants OL David Diehl could be a salary cap casualty as free agency approaches. "The thing you realize at an early age is that as an NFL player you have an expiration date on you and it comes with a price tag," the offensive lineman said Tuesday. "That's the way that it always goes. Nothing has been said to me yet, but that's all things you can't control. The only things you can control are the way you prepare each and every day, getting myself healthy, and whenever that comes about we'll deal with it. But as of now, nothing has been said."

And this is where I have been from the beginning. That spot is normally reserved for a LB that you are grooming to be a starter (P. Riley, Keenan, etc.), but he's topped out on potential at 30 as a LB. Just by keeping him on the roster you are undercutting another player who could be gaining experience by reps on teams and situational defensive plays each game.

I like the dude too, and if he wants more money by all means go find it elsewhere. This is what we can afford to pay you and I'm sure it was a fair deal.

I know he's been mentioned by the more unrealistic fans in here a couple of times. I just wanted everyone to know he was likely off the board and what he's looking for money wise, lol.

Louis Vasquez - G - Chargers ESPN's Adam Schefter calls Louis Vasquez "one of the biggest sleeper free agents out there."
The Chargers are going to have their hands full retaining Vasquez thanks to supply and demand. Outside of Andy Levitre, there simply aren't many starting caliber guards available. The Chargers may have to pay more than market value if they want to get Vasquez locked up before free agency opens in two weeks.

Bryant McKinnie - T - Ravens Sources tell CBS Sports that the Ravens don't expect to get a deal done with LT Bryant McKinnie before free agency.
Although McKinnie's surprisingly strong play on Joe Flacco's blind side during the Super Bowl run was crucial, the Ravens have bigger fish to fry. Free agents Flacco, Dannell Ellerbe and Ed Reed are all much bigger priorities. Given McKinnie's age (33), history of weight issues and the depth of the tackle market, teams won't be beating down the door to sign him. He could still be back with the Ravens at a team-friendly rate.
Source: CBS Sports Feb 27 - 10:24 AM

Ed Reed - DB - Ravens Free agent Ed Reed has not spoken to the Ravens about a new contract yet.
Reed has to get in line behind fellow free agents Joe Flacco and Dannell Ellerbe. He's also in the process of hiring an agent after representing himself for the past few seasons. If the Ravens let Reed get to the open market, the Patriots and Colts are expected to come calling.

LaRon Landry - DB - Jets The Jets have reportedly "made it known" that they'd like to re-sign free agent SS LaRon Landry.
The Jets have had some discussions with Landry's representatives, but we'd expect him to hit the open market. The hard-hitting yet injury-prone former Redskin will want to cash in after actually playing in all 16 games last year. The cap-strapped Jets may not be able to afford Landry, who is believed to be seeking $6 million annually.

I'm not too worried about Zo right now in terms of re-signing, the dance has just begun. We probably tossed him a low-ball, he parried, he'll thrust back with another offer, we'll parry, yadda yadda.

He's not getting more than ~2M a year anywhere, so I'm not terribly concerned. As a player he's not hugely difficult to replace, the problem is draft resources.

So long as either Fletcher OR Zo return, I think ILB is okay with Riley, Robinson, and a few other guys. I'd like them both, but beggars can't be choosers.

When I google his salary I am seeing $3.8 to $4.5 million for 2012. So just as a question what would be a reasonable price? I would not want us to draft a rb at all. Unless they are undrafted.

It's not about reasonable. It's about holes and our salary cap penalty that has yet to be revised. Bush is in a position where we can find quality help for a fraction of the cost and not crush our cap.

As of now, I believe we're still over the cap.
