I was wondering (not panicking) why we haven't heard any restructures from the Redskins like we have other teams? I know there is 11 days until free agency and when we have to be under the cap, but is it because they are going to wait to hear if we get some of our cap back?

Also, I think it's time for Fletcher to retire. I wasn't impressed with his play last year. I know he was injured and he did create some turnovers, but we need the salary space and to continue with the youth movement. I appreciate all he's done, but I'm ok with him not being on the team this year. I was actaully ok with it last year, before he re-signed.

Redskins: Right tackle Ryan Harris – Tyler Polumbus is a free agent and wasn’t very good. Washington doesn’t have an heir apparent at the position. Harris filled in admirably in Houston’s zone-blocking scheme last season as a spot starter, and he’d be a nice, cheap fit for basically the same offense with the Redskins. He was a third-round pick by Mike Shanahan’s Broncos in 2007.

1. Shanny has said multiple times the key for a good O line is continuity/health -- and Ryan Harris has a bad history of injuries

2. We had a chance to pick him up multiple times and passed. So why is this time different?

As does the Chicago Tribune. The Bears have a little more than 72 hours to make the move official. Melton will be due $8.5 million under the tag.

Phil Loadholt - T - Vikings CBS' Jason La Canfora reports the Vikings will not use the franchise tag on free agent RT Phil Loadholt.
ESPN 1500 Twin Cities reported as much last month, saying the Vikings would prefer to work out a long-term deal with their mauling right tackle. Loadholt would have been guaranteed $9.8 million under the tag.

I had the same questions initially. Basically, he was coming off of injury/surgery in 2011 offseason when he was signed by the Eagles and I think spent some time with another team as well.
In 2012, the Texans took a flyer and he got playing time and rated out farily and has been relatively healthy all year.

So now in 2013, he's a cheap stop gap option who appears to be reliable and familiar with our system.

Ugh, not sure what it is, but I really like Hall. When he gets a bad rap I've always defended him. He's still JUST 29. I would love to keep him around a few more years. With that being said ... if the team decided to part with Hall, we'd save $8 million. I HAVE to imagine you can parlay that money into a FA CB and FS. Maybe that's Greg Toler and Corey Lynch, with a couple mill left over.

I wouldn't mind going into 2013 with Toler/Wilson/Amerson/Crawford/Minnefield.

FWIW, if we cut Hall, I really think we would really need to extend Josh Wilson ... it would lower his cap hit this year and also secure the position beyond this year.

The Giants are "continuing to see" if they can work out a new contract with free agent FS Kenny Phillips.
Per reporter Jason La Canfora, Phillips is unlikely to be franchise tagged ahead of Monday's deadline. With Antrel Rolle and Stevie Brown at safety, the Giants will likely only bring Phillips back if it's at their price.
