Hit edit and go back in and just color in your responses in red. Probably the simplest way to do it, instead of trying to go back in and restructure the post.

Yes I would. when he was on the field, he played pretty well. I think he could be had for cheap and is our most physical CB mainly due to his size.

What if Talib wins a ring this year and wants to stay in New England? (EDIT: And the hot rumor is that Miami will be tagging Sean Smith, BTW.)
Obviously thats a risk. I read the reports about Smith getting franchised, so that would obviously take him off of the table. There are numerous corners available that would be an immediate upgrade to Hall. Not all of them will be resigned. Talib, Grimes, Williams, Cox, DRC are all UFA upgrades plus the cuts that will likely come.

We draft at the end of the 2nd round (basically)... what if the CB we were targeting is long gone by then?
I have read tons of mock drafts and alot of them have pretty good players still on the board. I just put up a mock in another thread that has getting Rhoades from FSU. there is absolutely starting talent at CB available in the 2nd round.

Are you confident rolling into the season with an aging Griffin (who played well at times... but was often out or suspended), a 2nd rounder, Josh Wilson, and Dick Crawford?
No. But I am confident if you add in an upgrade over Hall that was aquired via FA. I would be thrilled with FA/Wilson/2nd Rounder/Griffin/Crawford

That doesn't give me a warm and fuzzy. Wilson and Griffin are boundry corners. Crawford was abused in the slot this season. You have to bring Hall back, love him or hate him. At least until you see how things pan out in the draft and FA. I have a feeling he likes it here and he smells a winner
Not true. Wilson is best suited to cover the slot, as he did in SEA and bal. Before Griffin was suspended he was playing outside for us (again bc of his size) and playing it pretty well. Ideally, I would hope that 2nd rounder/FA could cover the outside guys in 3 WR sets and Wilson could move inside to the slot. On 2 WR sets Wilson would probably be one of the outside guys with our FA (assuming of course that he is an upgrade)[COLOR="Gold"]

    Thanks for the help guys!!!!!

Now, I'm not against re-signing Griffin on the cheap. But I wouldn't bank on him AND cutting Hall before we see who we bring in. I also wouldn't bet on Griffin making the squad if Minniefield comes back healthy. You have to go with the upside there, but that is a big assumption. But that said, I'm not so much against bringing Griffin back as I am replacing Hall for him. Remember, we can be over the cap during the FA period.

Totally agree, but I wouldn't bank on more than 3 or 4 really good corners getting out. Meaning, there is a bidding war for them... for which we won't be able to afford.

yeah, namely Xavier Rhodes. I think Safety needs to be the number one priority. What average safety play would've done for this defense is dramatic.

We'll have to see. We'll have to see who is available and what the growing rate is. Hall is a football player. You want good football players.

I think Griffin was our best #3 CB... very physical... He played well when he played... Brandon Merriweather's return will be key... speaking of ACL injuries. Any updates on who did his procedure and how it is coming along?

I like him... There's also a tall 6'4" safety from Richmond who's opening eyes at the East-West practices...

Hall played pretty well towards the end of the season. I think he's better than Josh Wilson.

Vinny Cerrato believes he gave Jim Zorn a roster that can make the playoffs. A playoff kicker doesn't miss that kick. A playoff safety doesn't bite multiple times by a double move in the same game.

Hall was absolutely better than Wilson last year though Wilson was better the year before. They're both unreliable and streaky though, would be nice to get one guy you could consistently count on haha.

Don't get me wrong, I like Wilson, but I don't think I noticed him playing the slot much if at all this season.
I don't think Wilson was a slot guy in Baltimore, but anyways, they were really tight up against the cap and couldn't re-sign everyone.

I was just going off of walterfootball.com, lol.

Hopefully the league does start to trend to these taller corners... I'd take some of the shorter 5'8" to 6'0" guys that are out there right now on the FA market with a bullet. I do, however, love a big sexy Safety who can hawk and smash when necessary.

My God, Redskins fans are so ridiculously demanding it's outrageous!

Fine... big, hawking and smashing but sexy? Do you know how difficult it is to find a sexy Safety that isn't even big, hawking or smashing, let alone one that's all four things?

I have seen some mock drafts that disagree. But even if he gets drafted there are others. Jordan Poyer, Desmond Trufant, Carrington Byndom, David Amerson should still be here. Im really interested by Amerson if coaches think he can stick at CB....especially after seeing what tall physical corners can do in SEA

He's allergic to grass, that could be a problem on our...oh wait nevermind, we play on dirt. Carry on.

I recognize it isn't an issue either way just taking the weekly shot at the place the Redskins call home, glorious FedEx Dirt, sorry Field...dang did it again

Amerson is tall, but isn't that physical. He's not a good press corner. If he misses the press, he's going to get beat deep. I wouldn't call him a bump and run guy.

I think more mock drafts will start to put Rhodes into the 1st round. He's too talented and too good of an all around football player to not go in the 1st.

News came out that Miami will try and offer a "team friendly" contract before the start of FA... Other sources suspect he will hit the FA market

I'm not advocating this by any means but it'd be worth a look to see what he wants...

Reggie Bush... He's the ideal change of pace back.

I'd still like to bring in Chris Rainey, regardless of his issues off the field.

Another guy i'd bring in for a workout would be Justin Forsett out of Houston... He's been backing up Arian Foster/ Tate but he was a force in Seattle before Lynch.

Bush is intriguing but I think he would want more carries then he would get here.
