Yes. I believe we can sign anyone right now who is practice squad eligible. But he would fall into the category of who we could.

This past week he's visited Baltimore and Pittsburgh. If I am his agent, I sign well before 12 March. So hopefully we get him in soon.

This is the token FA, young, cheap, can fill a void and immediately upgrade a position of need. I'll take the Percy Harvins, Reggie Bush's, Jairus Byrd's any day of the week but it's just not reality. This, IMO, is a must for due diligence.

    J, there's two things I never miss:

    1) When Oprah has on the "Skinny Girl" as a guest. Her recipes are too legit.

    2) A Percy Harvin trade update.

Browns | Some believe Mike Wallace will join team
Some people in the Pittsburgh Steelers organization believe that impending free-agent WR Mike Wallace will sign with the Cleveland Browns this offseason.

Dolphins | Randy Starks expected to hit market (Note: he was the driving force behind Miami's 3-4 defense... local product too)
The Miami Dolphins will try to re-sign impending free-agent DT Randy Starks but likely will not come up with an offer good enough to keep him from testing the free-agent market.

Dolphins | Expected to pursue Greg Jennings
The Miami Dolphins are expected to heavily pursue Green Bay Packers impending free-agent WR Greg Jennings once free agency begins.

Cardinals | Stewart Bradley could be released
The Arizona Cardinals could consider releasing LB Stewart Bradley this offseason because he is scheduled to count $6.5 million against the salary cap next season. The team could also try to restructure his contract to reduce his cap number.

Browns | Paul Kruger could be FA target
The Cleveland Browns could show interest in Baltimore Ravens impending free-agent LB Paul Kruger this offseason.

49ers | May show interest in Percy Harvin (You thought the 49ers were untouchable now... This would be ridiculous. The other noteable entry for Harvin is the Pats... SMH)
The San Francisco 49ers could show interest in Minnesota Vikings WR Percy Harvin if he becomes available this offseason. The 49ers are expected to have around 13 or 14 picks in the 2013 NFL Draft and could use some in a possible trade.

Cowboys | Two defensive players may be cap casualties
The Dallas Cowboys may consider releasing DT Jay Ratliff and SS Gerald Sensabaugh this offseason if the team believes they are too expensive to remain on the team.

Reggie Bush - RB - Dolphins Tim Twentyman of the Lions' website expects the team to add a complementary speed back via free agency or the draft.
North Carolina's Gio Bernard would be a logical fit in the draft. Reggie Bush would be the Lions' best option in free agency, and his skill set would complement nicely Mikel Leshoure's more straight-ahead, powerful style. Twentyman notes that GM Martin Mayhew is on the record as wanting more "juice" in the backfield.

    Quick question.

If the Cowboys release Ratliff should Skins possibly look into signing him?

He did just get a DUI charge about 2 weeks ago, right after his teammates were in an accident and one of them died. I like that we have Stephen Bowen since he was misused in Dallas but I don't think I could ever look at Ratliff as a Redskin. I'd always have a feeling he's trying to sabotage us. If it's between the two, I take Randy Starks over Ratliff 9 times out of 10.

    My FA wishlist....

    FS Chris Clemons
    CB Leodis McKelvin
    CB Dominique Rogers-Cromartie
    ILB Nick Barnett

To get those guys we probably have to cut D. Hall and London Fletcher. Fletcher's play is about to fall off a cliff (if it hasn't already) and D Hall is no longer the playmaking ballhawk he was earlier in his career. All those FA guys outside of Barnett goes along with our current FO's strategy of young & relatively cheap guys coming into their prime. I think Barnett could be a 2 year stop gap while Keenan Robinson and another ILB draft pick is groomed.

    Are you trolling?
Did you watch the second half of the season and how much Fletcher dominated? Nick Barnett is a wild child with a terrible injury past and is no where near the leader/player Fletcher is, and he's 32.
Chris Clemons is a SS, and he'd be an upgrade I agree, unless B. Meriweather is healthy.
Leodis McKelvin is what he is, a special teams guy and I don't see him making a case to play legit CB.
DRC is just not that good... He'd be a downgrade from Josh Wilson/DeAngelo Hall.

Why because he was graded out as a top 10 OLB and has experience in the 3-4 as a ILB and was good at that as well?

Or is it because OMG he is 30+ years old, signing him to a 2 year deal would be so stupid right?

Or is it your use of a logical fallacy why you did not respond to that post?

That is a very silly argument considering Fletchers Age. I wouldn't cut Fletch, but yea if he retires I would look to sign him to a 2 year deal Just to give us a stop gap and depth and time to develop others at the position

Any idea how much George Wilson might command? If he was rated the 8th best safety in the NFL why were the Bills so quick to release him?

If Fletcher retires, you let Keenan Robinson/Lorenzo Alexander step in, not sign a 32 year old. The Buffalo Bills are purging the vets and investing in youth, as are we... Fletchers leadership is also unquestioned in this organization. There are plenty of ILB's if we are looking to sign one, and they can be young starters as well.

He was due to make $2.9 million in base salary. They are purging vets and bringing in youth.

Wow... this is surprising. I thought Atlanta would lock him up for sure....

Falcons | William Moore interested in testing market

Atlanta Falcons impending free-agent SS William Moore is believed to be interested in testing the free-agent market this offseason.

(obviously these aren't the exact numbers, but they are in the other thread about this):

    Pass rushing situations:

    Orakpo: 900 (2011)
    Jackson: 450 (2012)

    Sacks:

    Orakpo: 9 (2011)
    Jackson: 4.5 (2012)
    Don't cite bull**** numbers.

Our defense faced 550 passing attempts in 2011, sacking the quarterback 41 times. Orakpo didn't "rush the passer 900 times." Furthermore, of those 550 potential pass attempts, Orakpo was (too frequently in my opinion) asked to drop back in coverage. There was a game where he dropped back in coverage more than he rushed the passer, a thread I started at the time.

Of course, these numbers also don't take into account the league-high holding calls that Orakpo garnered. A holding call is virtually as effective as a sack as far as loss of downs are concerned. How many drive-killing holding calls did Jackson earn?

How do you account for the fact that in 2011, we sacked the QB 41 times, but in 2012, only 31 times? Despite seeing improvement at ILB (Riley replacing McIntosh in his first full season), OLB (Kerrigan a year improved), and adding Jarvis Jenkins to the line. And, of course, starting Better Pass-Rusher Rob Jackson for 14 games.

There is one obvious key factor in the regression, which is why the front office is making it a priority to re-sign Orakpo long-term.

At this point if you are still saying that about Jackson, you either:

    1) don't have a clue what you are talking about
    2) are a hater/troll
    3) are related to Brian Orakpo
No, I just have NFL Rewind with the All-22 access and it's patently obvious what Orako brings to the table that Jackson simply cannot.

And I don't even have to result to personal insults to make an argument.

Dude, Fletcher's play against the run has fallen off dramatically. To be honest I attribute his high interception total ( I guess that's what you're referring to as "dominant") to Jim Hasletts scheme. Clemons is listed as a FS not sure where you got your info from. Regarding DRC he was on his way to being an upper echelon CB before he was traded to the Eagles where they initially had him playin the slot ... Sounds exactly like the situation D Hall was in (high level of play for the team that drafted you, only to stink it up somewhere else). I'd much rather have a top tier CB come in but with our cap situation I think DRC and McKelvin can grow in our scheme ala a Stephen Bowen or a Kory Lichtensteiger.
