I wonder where his stats would be if Coach Bill B up in NE wasn't such a D-bag. Seriously he always does that to players to prove a point. He is 6-4 and still fast

I want us to keep adding DL depth.

I would us to work on bringing Glenn Dorsey and Tyson Jackson who are both expected to be releases by the Chiefs. Although both have been a bust/disappointment but there are reasons why they were selected so high in the draft.

If we can get them back on track like we did with Carriker then our DL would be set with very good depth.

Difference is both Dorsey and Jackson are/were palying in a 3-4, and npt playing very well. The Carrock (nerdy Hobbit reference) was playing in a 4-3. It was the scheme change that really helped him. I like Jackson, but i do think he will be too expensive for an underperforming 3-4 DE.

I didn't pay a lot attention to him in NY, and he has had injury issues, but maybe he would be good depth?

I'd take a flier on Jason Smith in a heartbeat... Still young, but has not yet lived up to his potential. 2nd overall pick in 2009 draft.

I'm glad someone else brought this up because I didn't want to be the one crucified for it. It would be interesting to bring him in on a minimum contract and try him at G.

Analysis
Positives: Tall, athletic left tackle prospect. Excellent straight-line speed and hustle, getting downfield on screens and long runs. Can pull and trap, running smoothly and adjusting to oncoming defenders. Moves to the second level quickly, using good angles to keep linebackers out of the play. Should work well in zone-blocking schemes with his ability to lock onto defenders and move. Gets down quickly to cut block despite his height. Adjusts well to outside blitzers. Willing to throw his man to the ground and keep him there. Has made significant improvement in terms of technique and strength over the past two years at left tackle.

Negatives: Typically operates out of a two-point stance for Baylor. Raw in his pass-set technique, standing a bit upright and backpedaling instead of sliding to mirror his man. Locks onto his man at first, but eventually loses his balance and grip due to his average upper-body strength and footwork. Does not have much of a punch in pass protection. Can lose the hands battle on the line. Could use a bit more bulk in the lower body to be more effective as a drive blocker. May initially have to be moved inside to left guard for a zone-blocking team.

Compares To: ERIC STEINBACH, Cleveland -- Steinbach is an offensive guard, but both have the initial quickness and outstanding athleticism to excel in a zone-blocking scheme as an interior lineman. Smith needs to add at least another 20 pounds of bulk to handle the rigors of playing left tackle at the next level. His lack of great footwork and need to improve his stance could be covered up better playing inside for a year or two because he's still a neophyte at the left tackle position (19 starts). Once his body matures, his athletic skills will make him a quality left tackle in the mold of another former college tight end, Jason Peters (Buffalo).

Obviously he's been horrible and has had injury issues on top of that, but still could be an interesting project.

Most talented ever? Maybe. But he was his own worse enemy throughout his career. He will never touch Rice. He had the talent to shatter Rice's records. Instead he probably comes in at 2nd best. Not bad, but not what he could, hell should, have been.

What exactly did Belichick do to Moss that you think he also did to Chad Johnson and Brandon Lloyd? Are you insinuating that he brings in these veteran receivers and purposely sabotages his own personnel decisions? Please.

Chad couldn't learn the offense and was over the hill. Lloyd could still reach his potential if he came back, but the reality is that he just didn't play as well as he did for the Rams for one great season where he was peppered with targets every single game. And Moss was a headcase. As always.

Look. I'm actually not a Moss hater. It's just that it's obvious to anyone with functioning eyes that he's got nothing left in the tank, and absolutely zero ****s to give. He couldn't even attempt to elevate his lackadaisical game in the ****ing SB.
