Left tackle Jermon Bushrod likely will be the team's top unrestricted free agent priority as he's been more than capable of protecting Brees' blind spot as he earned a Pro Bowl bid in 2011. Bushrod signed a two-year deal in 2010 maxing out around $9 million total.

Bushrod didn't say he deserved a top-tier left tackle contract simply adding that he'll take whatever teams feel like he deserves. Bushrod, 28, also said he understands he's in the prime of his career.
Being a LT, I'm not sure he'd come here anyway. Plenty of teams are going to pay this man to play LT for them. I'm going to say around 8-9 million a year.

    In case anyone was wondering:

A week before the Detroit Lions officially released insubordinate wide receiver Titus Young, the Detroit News alluded to the possibility of serious mental and emotional issues.
"I have been told that the organization has pleaded with Young to get help," beat reporter Chris McCosky wrote. "They have set him up with therapists. He has not cooperated."

The first sign that Young's antics had become more disturbing than amusing was the revelation that he sabotaged his own offense by purposely lining up in the wrong spot. The second sign was going rogue on Twitter in an intentional effort to gain his release from the Lions.

Now we have a third sign that Young is detached from reality. In a Christmas conversation with high school coach E.C. Robinson, Young claimed to be every bit as good as Calvin Johnson, the NFL's receiving yards leader in each of the past two seasons.

"He did tell me he thought he was just as good Megatron," Robinson told the Detroit Free Press. "I said, 'Come on, man. Who you talking to?' I said, 'Come on, you're as good as that guy? This guy is the real deal.' And he really believes this. And he was sincere about it. 'Ah man, I'm better than him.' I said, 'No you're not. Be real man. Come on.' So I don't know, I'm hoping for the best for him."

The Lions' scouts, as well as the personnel departments of the other 31 teams, were well aware of Young's character issues coming out of Boise State. Perhaps the experience with the troubled receiver finally will lead to a tightening of the screws in Detroit.

This guy is a legit headcase. Stay far, FAR away from him. We do not need his shenanigans on this team.

We surprised BPA advocates by drafting Joshua LeRibeus for need.
Do we do that this year also?
Are there any FA available for our 3-4 defense?
Feel we would have had a great defense with Orakpo, Carriker,Meriweather,T Jackson,Minnifield,Bernstine,K Robinson and Neild last year.
I don't know where you heard that rumor about Robinson but I don't think anyone could simply guess that right now since he has not yet been on the field after the injury. He could be fine, but that injury is a bad one to have, its the same injury which keeps hampering Orakpo... I wrote a few notes on this early in the thread.

If we come out of FA with a few spot players, BPA is the way the draft should go for building future depth.

Plenty of FA's available for the 3-4. most of the guys we note in here for the the DLine and LB's are 3-4 guys.

Injuries happen in the NFL... that's why we need depth at all positions. It's damn near impossible to make through a 16 game year, and then the playoffs with all your starters.

Signing Asmougha isn't a bad deal if it is short terms and fair (nothing crazy). People really need to stop this notion of if a player is old he will automatically be unproductive. Say we signed him t a 3 year deal worth 15 million 8.5 million guaranteed. That wouldn't be all that bad

Did I name anyone in particular? No. Did I make a personal attack on anyone? No. Even fellow Skins fans can suggest nitwit ideas in here. My point is, he's old, he'll cost and I don't think he fits our defense. But you know "someone" will suggest it because of his name and not what he could possibly offer. I don't think I'm being a bit harsh here.

It's not just that he's old, otherwise I think most would agree that signing him to a one or two year deal would be okay, it's that he doesn't fit our style of defense. We like our guys to play off more and watch the QB. However, Raheem did change that a lot and we started to do a mix of both. So, I don't know if we're really going to change how we look at that position from here on out.

That being said, Nnamdi wasn't even good the past few seasons at doing what he supposedly does best, so I'd only offer him a deal not too far over vet minimum and let him know he'd only be competing for a starting spot. And I doubt he'd come here for that.

Didn't work out so well for the Raiders when they had Hall and Asmougha. No thanks. His good years are behind him.

Well, then if it personally offended you, you'll need to have thicker skin. If someone can come up with a good reason why we should sign him, I'm all ears and will debate why we shouldn't. If someone wants to sign him because they recognize his name, then the idea is nitwitty(?).

These three rules will make this thread beyond awesome:

    1) No Tebow

    2) No Nnamdi

    3) No Stairway
