If they get him long term now the Redskins are more in a position of power in content and structure within the contract. I agree with your approach, but this is perfect. Like the Fred Davis deal this year, what sucks with an injury makes up for itself with a good recovery and a reasonable/fair contract.

He is a really good dude. He went to High School with my cousin (in Ashburn no less, as you said). But if he couldn't catch on with the Bills, who started Chad Rinehardt a couple of games over the last few seasons, we should have no interest in him.

So... Jovan Olafioye is going be signed then instead??? hahaha I better see that pop up on rotoworld or PFT this weekend. He should have already been picking out a number to wear here.

That would definitely make a great weekend.

I'll be watching. Something's up. I can feel it. It's almost been too quiet. All of these teams releasing dudes, claiming dudes there, getting under the cap here.... we're breaking ground on our new Training Camp Facility in the 804. Something is up.

    Yes indeed...

"Don Lantz, 76, grew up in North Richmond and has been a fervent Washington Redskins fan his entire life, though he’s never made the more than two-hour trip to the training camp at the NFL team’s Ashburn headquarters.

“It just wasn’t convenient,” said Lantz, who now lives in Mechanicsville.

This summer, the ‘Skins are coming to him, and Lantz is thrilled.

“It gives you an opportunity to see the players up close and personal,” he said.

Lantz was a part of a crowd of several hundred — including fans, city and state officials, team representatives and other guests — celebrating a belated groundbreaking Thursday for the new Bon Secours Washington Redskins Training Center now under construction on 17 acres of state property off West Leigh Street."

Dude, I am stoked about the team moving to Richmond for Camp. It's a much better drive for me and I'll be able to take my kids to see the guys play. I can't afford to take them all to FedEx right now (and they aren't old enough to appreciate it) but this is one of the best moves this team has made in years, in my opinion.

I agree. I'm some cited to skip out and take a few half days at work to make the trip to Richmond with some friends and watch this year. I can't wait.

Ed went to Stone bridge he is a cool guy I trained with him before he went to VT at explosive performance in herndon, he originally went to be a TE but had the body to put on weight an maintain his quickness. He was coached by my old high-school coach mickey Thompson! I hope he makes their team...

He can still come out here. There must be something more to him if he's not getting interest from Green Bay. They were pulling the shirtless guys out of the stands to play Tackle towards the end of this past season.

early morning cinnamon rolls/bacon and eggs from rotoworld.com:

This one smarts for me, I really want McAfee:
The Indianapolis Star considers free agent P Pat McAfee a candidate for the Colts' franchise tag.
Colts beat writer Mike Chappelle would be "stunned" if McAfee got away after finishing fifth in the NFL in gross punting average (48.2) in 2012, while ranking a rock-solid 15th in net (40.3). McAfee will turn 26 years old this May.

Saints ILB Curtis Lofton agreed to convert a $5 million roster bonus into a signing bonus, lowering his 2013 salary cap number.
The move cost Lofton no money, but will affect the Saints' future salary cap. It did clear $4 million for 2013. Lofton, who turns 27 in June, finished his first season as a Saint with 123 tackles, two forced fumbles, and seven pass breakups. He'll be a 3-4 inside linebacker in new DC Rob Ryan's scheme.

The Indianapolis Star's Bob Kravitz reports that the Colts will not re-sign free agents Dwight Freeney and Austin Collie.
We already knew Freeney wouldn't be back. The "news" is Indianapolis' decision to part with Collie, who is coming off a ruptured right patellar tendon in addition to several previous concussions. One Colts source told Kravitz that, "If Collie had come along the same time as (Peyton) Manning, and had stayed healthy, he would have put up Welker like numbers." We wouldn't be surprised to see Collie reunite with Manning in Denver, replacing Brandon Stokley at slot receiver.

Patrick Chung fans are rooting for this:
ESPN's Ed Werder suggested on NFL Live Friday that S Charles Woodson will target the Broncos and Patriots as suitors in free agency.
"I would look for Woodson," said Werder, "... to look at a team like Denver or New England." Released by Green Bay on Friday, Woodson is eligible to sign with a team immediately. At 36 years old, Woodson figures to target a Super Bowl contender entering quite possibly the final season of his NFL career.[COLOR="Gold"]

Yes, DC9 I was hoping for McAfee as well. In my draft wishlist I hope we can land the punter I have listed. I don't know if Shanahan drafts punters or not.

I had family graduate there from the opening of the school until about 1985 I believe. That probably narrows it down for you, lol. My mom was 1979.

This kills this pipe dream fellas (as long a shot as it was):

VP of football operations John Elway says the Broncos will use the franchise tag on free agent LT Ryan Clady.
"We're going to tag him," Elway told the Denver Post. Elway says the sides would like to work out a long-term deal, but admits "things have changed a little bit because he's coming off a shoulder surgery." Clady has emerged as one of the best pass protectors in football, but has undergone two major operations in the past four years. He ruptured his patella tendon in 2010. Unless the Broncos get their soon-to-be 27-year-old left tackle to agree to a team-friendly deal, Clady may play under the tag in 2013.

I will update the OP when tags come out on any of our targets.

Also, the night before FA, I'll move the OP to a new post in the thread so that we can clear the OP out for signings and updates. I've already taken that whole week off of work.
