Hand us the Lombardi now...we wouldn't even need to field an 11 man defense lol. But you gotta stop, I'm at work and I can't stand up now thinking about that...
too far? sorry
Harvin and/or Bush won't be here, too much $$.
Look for other younger up and coming guys in FA or draft who will fit our offense.

Never too far my friend, I just had to go to YouTube and watch "Jizz In My Pants" - Yea, I made that face

LL56 posted a tweet stating we would be surprised with our FA/Draft and the chance we go heavier on O... Not too sure what it actually meant.

good reason, true, but technically Harvin's contract for 2013 is 2.9 million and Bush is looking at around 4.5 million per year. Both doable, IMO but I don't claim to be a capologist.

Anyone have ESPN Insider access? I'd love to see the rest of Polian's thoughts on the different tiers of Free Agency... He ranks the 2013 FA's by A, B, and C and accounts for injury history, games played, etc.
I would pass on Bush, the cost to value ratio isn't that great compared to what we could probably find in a 4th-6th round runningback. Heck, Helu is scary with his speed in this offense if he can just stay healthy. He finally started looking like he was willing to fight through contact in preseason, which was my biggest problem with him, before he got injured.
But yeah, Harvin and Garcon would be nasty. The defenses would be cross-eyed from that much speed, and you'd pretty much have to keep safeties deep every play, that extra gear is enough to make even the smallest mistake an instant touchdown, which of course means Morris would get to post another All-Pro year.
I imagine after this year Harvin will be asking for a contract similar to what we gave Garcon. Honestly, if we can get him for a reasonable traded pick, do it. Maybe add someone like Stedman Bailey in the 3rd for 3 superfast WRs. Easily doable too if we cut Moss, his contract would pay for both Harvin and Bailey, and leave about 2M left. The key problem is the pick we'd have to give up for Harvin, anything higher than a 4th and I would get antsy.
I respect your opinion and I won't disagree that it's highly unlikely that Bush would come here... Shanny likes the more 'under the radar' types. But Helu doesn't come close to Reggie Bush in any aspect of the game...I moved on from him a while ago.
You wouldn't give up a 4th for a guy who's young, developed, and already proved his first round worth in the NFL? I can guarantee you will not find anyone in the 2nd or later in this draft who has the skillset Harvin has. Tavon Austin is skilled, but does not have the size and he's the most comparable.
I do, list is:
QBs: Flacco (A), Derek Anderson (B), Drew Stanton (B), Matt Moore (B), Bruce Gradkowski (C)
RBs: Steven Jackson (A), Felix Jones (B), Javon Ringer (B), Reggie Bush (B), Danny Woodhead (B), Shonn Greene (B), Tashard Choice (C), Brian Leonard (C), Jacob Hester (C), Kevin Smith (C)

DT: Melton (A), Starks (A), Vickerson (B), Knighton (B), Marks (B), Jean Francois (B), Sopoaga(NT) (B), Jones (B), Edwards (B), Kemeoatu(NT) (C), Landri (C)
DE: Spencer (A), Avril (A), Freeney (A), Johnson (A), Dorsey (B), DeVito (B), Sidbury (B), Idonije (B), Geathers (B), Eason (C), Parker (C)

K: Nugent (C), Dawson (C)
Now is it just me or is Davis not even listed under TE. Not sure if that's good or bad. Probably good that no one remembers him, hopefully keeps price down.

Thanks DogofWar1, much appreciated brother!
This list is all kinds of jacked up and I can't even begin to note where I disagree with him... He doesn't even have Keenan Lewis listed under CB's or Chris Houston? WTH
Bush is definitely better than Helu in all aspects, but I don't know if he's $~4.2ishM better, especially when dealing with the cap penalty. Helu showed he could be dangerous both as a RB and a receiving threat out of the backfield, his 1000 all purpose yards show that. Of course his injury is a major hurdle.
My guess would be that Shanny takes a speedster later on like he always does in the draft. Someone who fits our system and needs, even if they aren't well rounded. He's not called the runningback whisperer for nothing.
As for Harvin, I'd be fine with a 4th, it was anything higher than a 4th I'd be concerned with because:
- only 1 year before he enters FA, so I'm wary of sending a higher pick for what might end up being a 1 year rental
- unless our FO rates WR higher than certain other positions, or addresses S and RT in FA, we'll need that 2nd and 3rd to get first year contributors for our needs

Oh yeah, some of the stuff is off.
My favorite thing is that they ran another article where they consulted PFF who cautioned against a bunch of the guys they list in As and Bs.
I see no reason why Minny would let Harvin go anywhere (other than because he has a **** attitude). Getting him for a 4th rounder? We should do that every day of the week and 6 times on Sunday. The dude is a flat-out baller.

Thanks for the list, DogofWar, very much appreciated.
Those are the guys I hope we target. If we can just one guy from each positional group I just listed there in Free Agency I'm going to be really happy (except RB of course, Bush is a luxury only). I don't think it's really feasible, but imagine getting Avery, Baker, Grimes and Chung or something. Keenan Lewis looks to be too expensive, but he would be my top grab at CB. We'll be stacked going into the draft, though.
