Maybe my perception is wrong, he is a physical freak but he seems like he is injured often. If he is cheap though I wouldn't mind having him in this offense on a deal where we can walk away without hurting us too bad if he doesnt work out.

And didn't Free just get an extension like last season?
I read a Clayton piece a couple weeks ago that said they were unlikely to release Free because he actually costs more on the cap if the release him than if they keep him. He thought they would hold on to Free for one more year.

Heyward-Bey would give us the kind of speed any offense could use.

But I know this, we aren't offering him a contract if he doesn't block his tail off in the run game.

As limited as Hank/Aldrick/Josh are in terms of the passing game, they help make the stretch zone play work, and that cannot be discounted.

Jermichael Finley would kill it in this offense, but I don't think we can afford him. He's only 25. I'm just praying Fred's achilles is ok.
Q: Are you surprised by the lack of production by the back-ups on the offensive line?

Vinny Cerrato: "Are you talking about all the sacks and stuff?"

Finley would be nice but Freddy will be cheaper, and Paulson is still a very nice backup with his blocking and decent hands.

It was a funny joke. I was trying to piggy back on it by making fun of you and myself. I guess that fell on deaf ears. I know better now... you are NOT to be ****ed with.

Jets | Could show interest in Brian Hartline
The New York Jets could show interest in Miami Dolphins impending free-agent WR Brian Hartline this offseason but he may too expensive for the team to sign.

Jets | Not expected to afford Reggie Bush
The New York Jets may show interest in Miami Dolphins impending free-agent RB Reggie Bush this offseason but likely would not be able to afford his expected salary. Bush would fit well in the team's new West Coast offense.

Dolphins | Two did not do well with yards after catch
Miami Dolphins impending free-agent TE Anthony Fasano averaged only 2.2 yards after the catch this season, which was worst among starting tight ends. Impending free-agent WR Brian Hartline averaged only 3.4 yards after catch, which was better than only four receivers that played nearly as much.

Steelers | Interested in Jovan Olafioye (CFL's top OLineman... Packers looked at him too but decided not to sign him because he takes blood pressure medicine)
The Pittsburgh Steelers have expressed interest in Canadian Football League OL Jovan Olafioye.

I agree, his injury history is a cause for alarm. But i would definitely sign him on the cheap..

Jovan Olafioye...We should take a look at this dude. Sounds like he could be a sleeper out of the CFL to make an impact in the NFL...

The B.C. Lions offensive tackle was named the CFL's top lineman Thursday at the league's awards banquet.

The six-foot-six, 346-pound Olafioye topped the voting conducted by members of the Football Reporters of Canada and eight CFL head coaches.

Last year, Olafioye was the award finalist behind Montreal's Josh Bourke, who was again the East Division representative in 2012.

Olafioye helped B.C.'s offence lead the CFL in yards per game and rushing.

The 24-year-old Detroit native hasn't missed a start in three seasons with the Lions.

The six-foot-seven, 315-pound Bourke anchored an offensive line that surrendered just 30 sacks as Montreal finished tied for first in the CFL in both touchdowns and fewest sacks allowed as well as second in passing.

He's also maddeningly inconsistent and not much of a blocker. And "cheap" is a relative term. He will probably come for quite a bit less than he would have commanded a couple of years ago, but it's not like it'll be a $1 mil contract or anything.

Never understood the love for Finley. Every year they talk like he is a break-out candidate and he is good for one good game a season. No thanks. Dime a dozen...you can find somebody in the draft just as good as him.

A sales brochure for Olafioye would include a number of outstanding characteristics: Size of a superheavyweight sumo wrestler (6-6, 325 pounds), disposition (nasty), durability (he hasn’t missed a start in three seasons), brute strength, superb range of motion and youth (Olafioye doesn’t turn 25 until Dec. 16). He has three years of pro experience which puts him significantly ahead of many redshirt seniors of similar age just graduating from college.

Olafioye has the talent and versatility to line up at any position on the O-line — he has played right/left guard and right/left tackle with the Lions — and that adaptability should make him even more attractive to NFL teams.

Plus, the behemoth tackle surrendered only a single sack in his past two seasons with the Lions, that occurring in Calgary on Oct. 26, when Stampeder defensive end Charleston Hughes defeated him in a 41-21 beat down by the Stamps in unarguably the Lions’ worst performance of the season.

As for concerns about his health — Olafioye requires medication to control a family predisposition toward hypertension — he doesn’t think that will be an issue this time, if NFL teams want to check him out. The Rams released him over possible liability issues after Olafioye neglected to take his medication and was considered medically suspect.

I agree. He is not the type of player to sign somewhere cheap. And he drops the ball WAY too much for me.

This is true. He has Carlos hands and it always rears its ugly head in important times. ALA Carlos. Freddy doesn't have Art Monk hands but they are better than Finleys.

Hey, I'm all for kicking the tires and seeing what he's got. Particularly with that versatility. Maybe he'd a good backup candidate, at least.

He's up. I'm not sleeping on any more CFL guys. Anthony Aldridge broke my heart, but now I think I'm over it.
