Thread: Did we all forget the Raven's game?? Stop blaming Shanahan for the injury

Default Did we all forget the Raven's game?? Stop blaming Shanahan for the injury

I had to make an account because so many people seem intent on blaming Shanahan for RG3's injury but many on this forum seems to have forgotten the Raven's game and how RG3's injury was dealt with.

Watch the Redskins-Ravens post game conference again starting at 2:40
    http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter/201212...ghts&tab=recap

Quotes from Griffin during the post game

''I knew I needed to get out at that point,''
''I couldn't move. At some point you have to do what's right for the team. And if I'm playing the rest of that game, I probably would have hurt myself even more.''

Your Shanahan and knowing your QB was smart enough to take HIMSELF out of the Raven's game for the sake of the team when they was behind (they needed the win to stay in the playoff hunt) you have to trust your QB in the playoff when the team is ahead and he tells you he can play. Like Shanahan said in the Seahawks post game he's learning how stubborn RG3 can be. If your basing what you know of RG3 based on the Raven's game he was smart enough to know when not to play. All you people saying RG3 is a gamer yada yada and will always stay in the game no matter what forgot about the Raven's game and the post game conference.

You watch the playoff post game with RG3 and they seems like two completely different players where he was saying he was the best option even though he was injured and limping all over the field.

The only thing I will add, and it was said on 980 earlier, where were all of the people bitching and moaning about Shanny when RG3 was limping all over the field against Philly and Dallas?

He was not limping against Philly and Dallas like he was against the Seahawks. Against the Seahawks, he could barely walk without a noticeable limp.

It was mistakes all around from people trying to win an important football game. Lessons will be learned. It's over.

Griffin could barely walk during the Seahawk game. He couldn't run or throw. So injured QB who can't run thus protect himself. Recipe for disaster.

If we win that game, nobody cares this much in whom to place the blame.

OKay. I'll edit the OP so I'm not blaming anyone. Honestly I was just tired of the radio and TV blaming Shanahan because if I was in his situation knowing what I knew I probably would've let him play.

Hindsight is always 20/20. I don't really care what pundits or members of this board say about the subject. What I really care about is how RG3 and Mike Shanahan think about it. I'll probably never know what they really think, so the point is really moot.

What we have now are results of actions that cannot be taken back. I don't hold anything against any of the parties involved.

The HC made a monumental **** up.

Robert's got the heart of a lion who will do anything and everything for the team. But you can't trust a players words over your own eyesight, which Coach Mike all but admitted to his very costly mistake.

We've had one heck of a season nobody expected if their truthfully honest back in the pre-season (even the biggest homers among our number. They may of hoped like they always do. But I defy anyone to say they truly expected the ride 2012 turned into); and we continue to learn from our mistakes and grow and get stronger as we go.

This one's on the HC. Other's a different times have been on other guys through the year. We win as a team. We lose as a team.

2012 is in the books. Onto 2013.

    Hail.

No, he shouldn't be blamed for the injury.

But he should be blamed for making a poor football decision. *shrug*

TL;DR - Snyder needs to upkeep the field, Shanahans are to blame for losing game simply due to not running the ball w/an injured QB, and our QB's future is now in jeopardy. *insert obscenities*

Shanahan can't be completely blamed for his injury. However, whomever's job it is to keep the field in good condition should get some (and I bet that lies w/Snyder's wallet).

Where I will blame the Shanahans is in LOSING us the game. We had a 14 point lead. We were kicking Seattle's ass. Yet instead of continuing to run Alfred Morris, we decided to keep letting RG3 throw the ball .. when the coaches could clearly tell her was hurting and were considering PULLING him from the game. You know that Seattle's weakness on defense is the rush. Your QB tweaks an injury and you let him stay in the game. Yet you quit rushing Morris? It makes no sense to me. He got only 16 carries in the entire game. When he's carried the ball 20+ times, the Redskins have only lost one game ... and that was to the Giants when the defense gave up the lead under 2 minutes.

I went into the game on Sunday thinking that even if we lost, who cares? We had a great season. We had great team chemistry and something to build on for the future. However, the way this game ended and that it ended with a HUGE injury to RG3 has made me not even consider saying that. It's Tuesday and I'm still PISSED about the outcome of the game and the way the game was played. Worse, I know that our building blocks for the future might be in jeopardy as a result of the game. And that makes me SICK.

This is actually a cogent point
The soldiers gave three cheers as they urged their tired horses north across the uneven hills. Some of the mounts, exhausted after a week of almost continual marching, began to lag behind; others, spurred on by their enthusiastic riders, began to edge past the regiment's commander. "Boys, hold your horses," Custer cautioned; "there are plenty of them down there for us all."
