I'm the biggest Redskins' fan and want to win too, but I am generally concerned with the health and welfare of people, NOT JUST FOR FOOTBALL. If Robert doesn't play in 2013, I could care less as long as he's given a chance to HEAL PROPERLY. I was one of the few people that didn't care if returned for the 2012 season, considering he was out there limping around on a sprained knee. I hope when he's done with football he's still able to walk normally without chronic pain like so many retired players.

As much as I want to win a Superbowl I understood 2012 wasn't going to be the year, and as a fan I was willing to look at his future development as the number one goal of the season. Robert's growth as a QB was and is, to me, the NUMBER 1 priority, and building a solid roster around him should be second. Now like a new toy on Christmas we've broken him, and will probably do so again due to Robert's competetive nature and the organization and fanbases desire to win.
    Whoaa there buddy.
First of all, what is the harm in people saying "Hoping RG3 comes back for the season opener?"
I mean, isnt that what we all want?
No one said "I dont care if hes not 100% he has to come back for the opener!!!"
All they said was is that they hope he can be back for it, theres no harm in that and its not a big deal, I dont know why you turned it into one.
I think I speak for everyone in saying, if Robert is 100% for the season opener, than I hope he plays, and if hes not, then thats fine too. But if hes 100%, then yes play him, because if he is healed to the fullest extent, then he of course he should play, because then sitting is pointless if the healing is done.
I think you maybe take what some of these people are saying incorrectly. Chill.

Glad most people around here don't think this way. Would be funny to see the look on your faces if he winds up in Dallas and leads them to a SB titles while "Captain Kirk" leads us to 8-8 season after 8-8 season.

"Washington strolled to the NFC championship, outscoring their two playoff opponents by a combined total of 48 points. Their domination was more than impressive, it was historic. The 1991 Redskins boasted the largest average margin of victory among all Super Bowl champions."

Some of the questions I have concerns what type of screws were used in 2009, I assume bio screws so he doesn't have to remove metal ones, and exactly how bad is the LCL?
This was just tweeted by usa today its a Quote from RG3's dad. ACL is being replaced.

@USAToday - "Robert's ACL is intact, but not enough for his profession -- he is an athlete. So they will replace.''

I still cant believe people are crying about Shanahan.
Bottom line, the guy has turned this team around, and whether you agree with the RG3 decision or not, we are lucky to have Shanahan or RG3 would be in Cleveland.

Wait, ACL is intact, but not enough for his profession. What does that mean? I am looking at pictures I still have of my ACL or "Patella Graft" after I tore it, got it replaced the same way RG did and then hurt it again and got it examined again with pictures. If the graft is intact, but detached from one anchor point, what is the difference between that and torn. Not saying that is what happened, but what does that mean? My Doc looked at a number things two being the graft itself whether it was torn and whether it was still attached to the two screws used to reattach it to the bone.

But, really doesn't matter, they decided to replace it so he has that six month recovery time. The LCL will be healed during that time. Six months is the magic number because it takes six months for the injury to biologically heal, assuming no complications, ect. How long after six months depends on the rehab of the individual.

    Dallas Superbowl ....lol
I would like to see the look on your face when Kirk tears it up, and RG3 gets traded and hurt...again. I not at all saying RG3 isn't great, but my greatest fear is a reckless accident prone QB who gives us maybe 2 years of wondering if he's ok every time he gets hit. We have already had one year of it.

Let's not fool ourselves into thinking there isn't a significant risk that RG3 may not come back the same. Think Bo Jackson.

Also remember, this is his second, not first, injury to that knee. Not good.
And please stop taking the pessimistic stance that he WON'T be like AP. It may have been his second injury, but if it was not properly fixed the first time around, then the likelihood of this injury happening again was much higher. I'm not talking from a position of complete ignorance. I had total ankle reconstruction as a 21 year old. That ankle is now my "good" ankle and has not given me any problems despite continuing to participate in athletics. I'm 35 now. So that's 14 years that a surgically rebuilt ankle worked better than what I has been working with before.

Lets not forget RG3 success is in a large part because of "The Butler".
