Exactly. When have we seen Dr. Andrews perform this type of surgery and say it wasn't successful? The true measure of the success will be seeing how RG III rehabs and gets himself healthy. Whether it's in the preseason, start of the regular season or sometime after - that is when the true test will be regarding the future of RG III and in turn the franchise as a whole.

Best case the Skins now will have a 22 yr old QB with a LCL and two ACL surgeries. At the very least there will be worry when he comes back on every scramble, big hit or even the slightest limp.

Watching RG III with concern and fear going forward given his youth and rapidly growing injury history isn't being irrationally negative at all - it's just logical and realistic.

Despite the concerns we can all agree that the hope is for RG III to recover fully and have a long, healthy career while leading the Skins to future greatness...

I wonder what Dr. Andrews would call an "unsuccessful" knee surgery.

What the hell is Andrews going to say? The surgery went OK, We hope Robert can recover from this but be optimistic Redskin fans? Of course it's all going to be positive. I still hope very much that they are extremely cautious. The season opener seems overly optimistic

Um no. If it didn't go well they wouldn't even have mentioned a potential return date.

I agree with you. It's just such a relief to hear that we should see him back on the field next season. If we can get the right pieces in place this off season we could really be deadly. I think getting a bye during the Wild Card round would be enormously beneficial to our chances at making a run towards another Lombardi. It's time to put in work!!!

yep...an its also been reported that cousins isnt exactly better than cousins. so, back to starting Grossman for the next 3 nears until we get a first round draft pick again and then finding a whole new franchise QB...sigh.

Sure, I would assume something would have had to go terribly wrong (crap, we opened him up and didn't have the graft!) to hear anything other than "successful" from the doctor. I want to look at this another way...is there a recent example of a good-or-better NFL player who was unable to come back from an ACL injury? To make it fair, it can't be someone who sustained the injury at 34 and just decided to call it quits a year or two early.
"Washington strolled to the NFC championship, outscoring their two playoff opponents by a combined total of 48 points. Their domination was more than impressive, it was historic. The 1991 Redskins boasted the largest average margin of victory among all Super Bowl champions."

This is great news... and that high motivation part is exactly what I'd expect in this circumstance.

Great news, but PLEASE do not rush him back! I'd rather him miss the first half of the season or even the full season than to be in harms way when he's not 100%. I think we learned the hard way not to risk his health with the whole LCL thing.
