Santana Moss. He was money, especially on that fall-backwards touchdown(what seems like)way back when.
Hopefully he and RGIII will be hookin' up like that for at least a few more seasons.
Gotta give a shout out to special teams, though...even though Banks got almost nothing on runbacks, there were very few mistakes, which can be disastrous.
37 & 6 were the unsong heros this year Hands down!

Darrell Young. No question in my mind.
Follow me @KDawg_ES on Twitter. It's a bundle of X's, O's and Laughs. Both at me and with me
I put my money on Perry Riley. As much press as guys like Fletcher, Kerrigan and Jackson got, dude was an absolute machine this year who came up with a ton of big plays.
Alfred Morris-Who would have thought at the beginning of the season that a 6th round RB would have that many touchdowns or even play well at all??
Santana Moss-dude was MONEY this season, especially in Dallas and Philly.
Kai Forbath-dude came to the team in week 6 and just lit it up, made 17 straight field goals to set the record!!!
Pierre Garcon-leading up to the Dallas game, people were worrying that he would have to get surgery on his foot and sit out the rest of the season. instead, he lights it up and plays his butt off just to help the team win. true team player, he showed up for us in the 7 game winning streak![]()
Actually someone mentioned Rob Jackson and I could actually go with that for Unsung Hero. He came through on some really key INTs and he was filling big shoes that Brian Orakpo could not wear.
Everybody else mentioned in this thread has been pretty well "sung."
I'd have to put my vote on Rob Jackson, Kirk Cousins, or Kai Forbath. All of them were originally not a key component of this team, but they stepped up when they were called upon and not only delivered, but outperformed their expectations.
RJax made some really clutch plays, most notably the clinching Romo INT when he faked blitz and dropped into coverage. Beyond that, he showed us all that we have quality depth at our OLB position for next year (assuming we re-sign the dude).
Kai came in as a FA unfamiliar with the team and played lights out, especially considering the shape our kicking was in before we had him. In addition to setting a new record for a kicker's debut by making his first 17 straight, he hit the game-winner in OT against Baltimore. Not to mention we have a good, young kicker on the squad that has fallen in love with our fans and vice-versa.
And of course, Captain Kirk. He started the season being confused by us drafting him, but since then he's gone on to show just how valuable of an asset he is. He learned what his role in this offense would be and he has fit right in. Stepping in when RG3 went down every time, he preformed remarkably for not only a backup, but a rookie as well. The TD and 2pt. conversion in Baltimore, the W against Cleveland, even coming in during the Atlanta and Seattle games, he was usually poised and calm. I just love the guy's attitude. He could easily be starting for the Browns, the Chiefs, the Jaguars, the Cardinals, and a handful of others, but we've got him and he seems to have settled into his place nicely. Glad to have the dude.
Honorable mention: Alfred Morris, even though he isn't really 'unsung'. Dude made 2nd team All-Pro in his rookie season, the same season that had Adrian Peterson and Marshawn Lynch running train for 17 weeks. He's only unsung amongst outsiders because he was in the same draft class as RG3, not to mention QB's get all the love.
Mine is Stephen Bowen. Totally unsung and totally a hero. He played through injury, and was our best pass rusher on the Dline. He was stout against the run and you never saw him do anything that could hurt the team.
Just an awesome pick up by Mike Shanahan.

Honorable mention goes to Tony Romo.![]()
I'm splitting mine several ways for the front-seven. They had a solid rotation and held our defense together during the stretch run, and they did it despite losing two starters.
"Washington strolled to the NFC championship, outscoring their two playoff opponents by a combined total of 48 points. Their domination was more than impressive, it was historic. The 1991 Redskins boasted the largest average margin of victory among all Super Bowl champions."

I would assume that an "unsung" hero has to be a player that didn't receive much public recognition of their play even though they did a lot to further the team's success. If that's the definition then you definitely cannot vote for Morris, Garcon, RGIII etc.
Offense:
Logan Paulson - he quietly does his job, great at blocking in the zone scheme; and reliable as a pass catcher. I don't know how many first downs he caught but it seemed like he had key catches in every game. Most Fans thought the TE position was toast after Fred Davis was injured. But Logan Paulson stepped in and made sure that opposing teams still had to respect the TE position.
Defense:
Not sure. I don't think Reed Doughty should get the award because he was a beast only for the last two games. Who hasn't received any accolades but has done a great job? Jackson maybe but perhaps Bowen better fits the "unsung" category.
