Bone on bone cracks me up.Robert will be just fine and running around in about 4 months. He will wear a brace for another 3 months. After that he will be about 90% back.By pre season he will be good to go.

And if this is true, they have direct contact to the situation. Because we don't know exactly what Andrews is telling them specifically. He's most certainly not going to voice concerns about his future publically. All the statement said was that he'd be ready for 2013, nothing more, nothing less. That leaves a LOT unsaid.

And for every doctor that's gung ho about his immediate future, let's not act like we haven't heard any that were more cautious about it. It's not unreasonable.
Except the problem is the article doesn't cite a team source, it cites a league source. That could quite literally be anyone. They could have asked the Jets doctor about complications with multiple ACL repairs or asked the Broncos field turf specialist what he thought about playing with cartilage deterioration in your knee. Quite literally they could have taken it from anywhere.

Cartilage deterioration is not an immediate thing, if he was playing on bad knees it would have shown in his predraft examination (you don't run a 4.35 on bad knees). It can happen when you either continue on a severely injured knee (if his original injury was just a 1st degree tear then his joint was likely stable enough), or if you have actually torn your cartilage (which I don't believe Dr Andrews reported any cartilage damage).

Frank Gore is still playing on a knee where he tore his ACL 9 years ago. Check out the McGahee injury while he was in miami, it was BRUTAL, and required several surgeries to correct. He tore the ACL in that same knee 3 years prior to that as well. He tore his MCL in his other knee this year, but his left knee has been generally healthy. Despite those knee injuries he has had a solid career and is still playing at a high level for a 31 year old rb.

Can anyone recall the last starter whose career was cut short due to knee injuries? Not talking about a guy 30+ who retired after one, but a guy in his 20s who just never was his former self afterwards. Basically my thoughts is it would have to be an absolute anomaly for rg3 to have his career ended by this.

Wait...so, RGIII had surgery to correct his ACL, LCL, and meniscus and the Redskins are concerned? I can't imagine why. Great inside scoop from PFT. Keep up the good work.

There were football games yesterday. There are football games today. Hopefully that'll give PFT and NFL network something to write about.

Here is a much more disturbing possible headline:

NFL.com per PFT: Redskins reportedly totally unconcerned with Robert Griffin III's knee injury.

"Huh? He was hurt? Oh, umm, that's gay. I hope he'll be back up and running in a couple of days, or years or whatever, I mean it doesn't really matter dude. C'est la vie as they say!" said Snyder on Tuesday.
"It's like catching a stack of pancakes."

Downside of being so good is attracting the attention of the media and the attention of other fans.

Everyone now is going to undermine his health b/c it's a way of taking a dig at the Skins and they're going to do it EVERY STEP OF THE WAY.

Let's all look out for each other as a fan base and squash all BS "RG3 knee issues" from singular, nebulous sources.

A little weird it's the first time we hear "cartilage."

Technically, it's a concern with any knee injury right? And bone on bone DOES suck but wtf does that have to do with RG3?

Take with a grain of salt news from an outfit that has no qualms about levying a claim of "career-ending" using no more than one anonymous "league source" to convey concern about a hypothetical injury from the Redskins proper.

We all have enough truth to worry about until next season.

I hate this article. Pure speculation and about the most negative trash you could throw at the situation. Won't be reading PFT for a while...write something more than a speculative ed-op please, its what you do best.

This type of article really only serves to bring readers to their website. I've posted a few times in the comments sections mainly responding to Giant/Cowboy fans saying stuff like "he's done", "will never be the same" etc. They are loving this since neither team made it to the post season. But, i can say I've seen a lot of them wishing Robert the best. It's his nationwide appeal that is bringing so much attention.

I can only hope Robert and Mike take something away from all of this. They both share a good amount of responsibility.

Thank you. Mike Florio is throwing crap against the wall in hopes that it sticks.

Mike Florio does a spot every Sunday night on Football Night in America with Peter King. That should tell you something.

New Headline- The year started off with RG3 being the ultimate "Hybrid QB" and ends with an unknown named Colin Kaepernick as the ultimate hybrid. I hate to say it but, Kaepernick is better than RG3 overall... more accurate on downfield throws, bigger and more durable and almost as fast + he has a healthy knee!!!

Kaepernicks performance last night had me wonderin g what might have been and reminded me of the curse of the Redskins. of course, they didnt mortgage the future to get him and we COULD have drafted him as well.... the REDSKINS are lesson on how NOT to run an organization.
