I call bull****. Jr. High School kids are ages 11-14 if your looking at grades 6 through 8. Which is considered middle school. If its a true Jr. High like I went to, its grades 7-9, which is ages 12-15. Based on the age group alone, I call bull**** on this *****. She needs to **** off and quit trying to make the world feel sorry for her. Her teaching a kid thats 14 is no different than her teaching a kid thats 15 or 16 in a high school. She's full of **** and a ****ing liar. I hope she loses the law suit and her job. Plenty of people would love to have her job and she has to make **** up. I have never in my life heard of a phobia of little kids. And if it does exist, its not Jr. High school age.
This dumb ***** is exactly what is wrong with how Americans act nowdays. **** her, I hope she ends up homeless in a ****ing cardboard box.

I know the teacher is an easy target right now, but what's up with grade schools going to online classes? I'm forced to finish up my last two GE bachelor's classes online, and I swear its more work then any of my core classes combined. Is this a cost saving measure, because outside of maybe rosetta stone, its already tough to be trying to learn a foreign language. Is this really the right way to go?
We don't know what we think, we don't know what we know. All we have to go on, is what we say and what we show...
That's why I said it was unnecessary. Your vocabulary seems good enough that it's weird that you chose to curse every other sentence. Notice how I really didn't pay attention to the substance of your post, and I'm sure most people won't. I'm not offended btw, just so you know.

It's all good man, I see your point. Having a bad week, and took my agression/anger out on the internet. I turned into an internet Hulkbut now I'm back to nerdy ole David Banner

One thing that has always rubbed me the wrong way is people taking advantage of the system, no matter what the system is (wellfare, judical, etc.). I think we live in the greatest country in the world and enjoy the freedoms/liberties we get to enjoy and at times take for granted.
I've witnessed first hand over the years people taking advantage of the NC Medicaid program and one lady I knew really well told me about how corrupt it really was because she was receiving assistance. They actually "told her"/encouraged her to quit her job because she would receive more free aide than she would working and getting the level of free aide she was receiving because of taxes, etc.
I know that has nothing to do with this story, but the principle is the same. This lady appeared to develop this phobia because they moved her to teach Junior High School age kids, which in most cases are ages 12 - 15. High school kids are ages 14-18. In age/maturity there is not much difference unless you compair a 12yo to a 18yo. With that said, I wouldnt classify a 12 year old as a "little kid".
I have not done any research on the topic and I have to admit this is the first time I've ever heard of this phobia. I would think that the phobia would be specific to little kids at the todler level and infants, age 5 and under. Maybe even extended to 8 years old, which would be through third grade. I base that strictly on the fact that boys and girls start hitting puberty around 4th-5th grade and start the process to develop into young men and women.
I think this teacher is lying about her phobia or exaggerating it to include Jr. High School age kids because she is bitter about losing her high school teaching job.
Id also like to toss out that in Jr. High, I was already 6' tall and actually hit 6'2" before I started high school. I wouldnt consider that as being a small child by any means and most of my friends had grown as much as they were going to by 9th - 10th grade too.

My post was probably unnecessarily antagonistic.
It was a roundabout (and admittedly poorly chosen) way of pointing out that really, none of us have any idea what's at play in stories like this. I think it's unfortunate that this woman, whoever she is, has her story discussed on messageboards across the internet by people who have no idea what they're talking about. It's possible that she's got a legitimate mental health concern and is essentially being victimized by someone petty in the school district. It's also possible that she's disgruntled and trying to take advantage of or even falsely claiming a diagnosis to game the system. We just don't know, and really have no way of knowing.
The thing is that cases like this will get settled by people close to the situation and probably don't merit national media attention. If she has truly been diagnosed with this condition that will be provable in court. People who are involved will also have better insight into whether moving classes online is a reasonable course of action and what effect it actually has on her position. I suspect putting high school foreign language courses online is a terrible idea, but there really just isn't enough information in the article for any of us to pretend to know what's happening.
Yet in the internet era all you need is a sensational headline and some hastily reported "facts" and quotes, and the story is off and running.
