Eh, I'm comfortable in my sexuality and I don't have problems with gay people. The prank we did was more "no way he'll do this" and to humiliate him. We succeeded. It was awesome. I would do it again. He was also wearing a bandana I think.

After his story, I'm convinced HailToTheRedskins14 is Mickalino. Couldn't you long-timers imagine Mick telling some story about getting a friend to send nude pics without understanding why that would be weird?

They're jumping to conclusions as to why he might have gone along with the whole thing, based on his religion, where he is at school, etc. Think of it this way...he's the preeminent defensive player on one of the most historically traditioned football programs in the country. He probably could have had his pick of a hundred different beautiful women. Why spend so much time in an online relationship where he never met the girl? Even if he truly was hoaxed, and knew nothing, why would he waste his time when there were so many other tangible opportunities? I suppose religion could carry him above those temptations, but you'd have to be Tebow level committed. Gay is one possible conclusion people are jumping to because of it, as well as other factors.

How old are you? Just curious, because I'm not that old (33) and I can't imagine ever intentionally trying to humiliate a friend growing up. Not to mention the fact that you'd do it again. Must be the even younger generation.

It is deadspin...but the facts they have put out there are also solid. They are putting their reputation on the line. And they seem to have checked out, by my standards. But, reviewing other internet sources, some people are still skeptical of this article. For me...the article states that there is no SSN record, that the person in question never existed, never enrolled at Stanford...it was all a lie. But why now? Why wasn't this discovered earlier?

Why did he do this? For publicity. What a clown.

I think he is either sick in the head or he may be a homosexual and wanted to avoid the scrutiny he may get from that. Either way, it's an F'ed up thing to do.

Te'o has reason to be afraid to come out, if he is, in fact, gay.

I think any professional or high visibility major college sports figure coming out would face a daunting challenge; but you're definitely right, ND and the Church of LDS are force multipliers in the equation.
