Default Yahoo Sports: Falcons fan stabbed in throat by 49ers fan outside Georgia Dome after loss

    More sadass bull****.

ATLANTA - Most of the crowd leaving the Georgia Dome following the Falcons' 28-24 loss to the 49ers left calmly, contemplating what might have been. But in at least one instance, a dispute between a Falcons fan and a 49ers fan turned violent.

According to WSB-TV reporter Rachel Stockman, witnesses reported that a Falcons fan punched a 49er fan, who in turn pulled a knife and either cut or stabbed the Falcons fan in the neck. Details such as the exact individuals involved in the incident and the victim's condition are not yet known. The victim was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital.
More details as they become available.

This is sad news, and I'm not trying to make light of the incident, but there are some hilarious comments under the story at ESPN's site.

see, THIS is exactly why you just shut the **** and not say or do **** to an opposing fan, even if your team won or lost!!! you dont know the person. that random stranger football fan could have a gun or a knife and end up killing you!! geez. its way better to just go home and drown your sorrows in alcohol. better yet, just be happy that your team made it that far in the playofffs, and call it a season and go on with your life. SMH!!!

but at the same time, the 49ers fan was stupid too, for pulling the knife out. he could have just walked away and let the falcons fan get in trouble for throwing a punch. both guys are to blame for this, IMO.

or if u do talk to fans at any point, just keep it nice. dont look to start a fight. and if a fan of the opposing team does/says something you dont like, walk away or ignore.

And my opinion is that there is nothing that could've happened that should have resulted in a person being "stabbed in the throat." Or even punches being thrown. It's so ****ing stupid. This whole "macho" sense of feeling people seem to have to show at ANY event.

ahh. i get ur point now. yeah thats true that whatever was said by the 49ers fan shouldnt have warranted a punch in the face, and also when the 49ers fan got punched, he should have just walked away and be the better person. so yeah i kinda see what ur point is. like, why even start a fight in the first place? how about just get out of the stadium and go home win or lose without saying a word to people you dont know? it just makes no sense.

I'll take the 49er fan side on this one. You have to come prepared to take on disgruntled fans on the losing team. You try to avoid it, but the 49er fan had no choice here. One punch could have led to other Falcon fans jumping in and attacking him. This is why we need guns for self protection. In this case it's a knife instead.

Three dogs watched as a woman ate some food during the competition at Cruft’s Dog Show in Birmingham, England.

I think you're jumping to conclusions here. The whole story hasn't been told. We have no idea if there were other Falcon fans around the two at the time, or not. Based on what we know, I don't see how anyone can take either guy's side at the moment. They are both idiots.
