What the hell is a "man card"???

That movie really hit me for some reason (My Sister's Keeper). I literally needed a roll of toilet paper b/c I ran out of tissues. I always cry during the Notebook too. It's one of my favorite movies.

In the Notebook, I cry when Ally goes to Noah's house and she's all like, "Why didn't you write me?!" and he tells her he wrote her every day, and they have that argument.

WTF??? I wanted to bang my head into a wall after seeing that. One of the absolute WORST movies ever made....I might've cried over wasting my $8 on a ticket if it didn't at least have a clip of Liv Tyler in her underwear.

I couldn't cry at the end of Titantic. I was still busy laughing too hard at the dude who jumped off the boat and hit that fan propeller. Best part of any movie ever

Why would someone cry during Armageddon? Dude got to save the world, blow up a meteor, and obliterate himself in front of the entire world with a giant nuke. And the couple married.

It seems this thread has so far given me this bit of info: a man card is really lingo for being macho, Rose killed Jack (probably involuntary manslaughter), men should rarely show their emotions, guys are very attached to their dogs, and chivalry is officially dead! Anything I'm missing?

I doth recall anybody saying chivalry was dead. No that is very much alive even if we don't cry at the end of Titanic

Guys are only allowed to tear up (and never cry, mind you) at movies that establish some kind of camaraderie between protagonists (a guy and his dog, 2 buddies, a father and son) and then snatch it away

This is exactly it. If you don't get at least choked up during scenes of sacrificial camaraderie and heroic leadership, you get a man card warning.
