    Why did the NFL feel a need to "investigate" this? How is this any of their concern, or anyone outside of the HTTR crew and the guys in the Redskins org who had contact with her?

    Because "Sid" didn't just Catfish the Redskins. She Catfished players from the Steelers and the Panthers as well, and then she recorded everything all of them said, basically to use in case she got caught. At that point it ceases to be a HTTR and Redskins problem and becomes a league problem.
