Yeah but...... Why would we take DY out of the game? Exactly what aspect of that position would he be better? Helu comes back. You already have Morris and Royster. The possibility of bringing back THT. Where does Tebow fit in this position? Davis comes back most likely next year w/ Paulsen already on the roster. Who's he going to out play there? Are we going to bring him in just for gadget plays? We don't have the cap space or roster space for luxury players. Tebow is a simple non starter for the Skinz.

I like Tebow, he is a good guy and a good football player all things considered. But the poor guy has a media frenzy following him anywhere which makes it incredibly hard for him to be productive anywhere. It isn't his fault, but he would cause problems here.

I think Tebow would be an upgrade over DY if Tebow can be an adequate blocker. He would be bigger threat in the running and passing game. He would provide more options for Kyle. Now if he can just give up on the whole QB thign he would be great.

thats a fact but the problems is that Tebow has UDFA talent as a QB.

Do you know how many guys taken in rounds 3-7 are in the NFL five years later? The percentages are crazy. Go back and take a look at the names of the 230 or so guys taken in those rounds three years ago and tell me how many wound up being impactful football players.

Tebow is big, fast, and very skilled....he is a great athlete. He also has experience playing football at some pretty high levels. Good coaches can take a player like that and make him an asset.

Again, read my opening paragraph about acquiring good players. You just talked yourself out of bringing in someone because you aren't sure he will have a role. Instead, I like the idea of collecting talent (especially on the cheap) and then figuring out the best way to utilize it. You must have a good staff in order to pull this off...I'm confident now that we do. It should always be a competition...always. If we bring Tebow in and he gets outplayed by DY, Paul, Paulsen, Helu, etc... then you can admit it didn't work out and move on. But my suspcision is that if Kyle got his hands on him that he would be able to find creative ways to work him in....and Tebow with the ball in his hands is more dangerous than DY, Paul, or Paulsen.

I would actually rather us just draft Collin Klein if we intend to go that route. A Tim Tebow clone who doesn't have nearly as much of a cult following, but could provide that versatile player value you're referring to kleese.

Plus, he'd be younger and cheaper as a late round pick.

He would make an exceptional TE.

He would have been great playing for Gibbs. Can't think of what coach he would fit best with, now, but I don't see MS or KS being capable of attracting him to play TE.

Actually, I could see him hooking up with Andy Reid and Phillip Rivers.

    No.

He cannot be part of your team without the circus coming to town. We dont need a circus. Let another team do Hard Knocks, Tebow Circus, or grab an old trouble making WR. We are headed in the right direction.

No ..... - He was massive in Florida in the Collage, so huge infact people could not see he could not throw for toffee, Then some damn fool took Tebow in the first round - and then some damn fool gave him the starters QB slot (one of only 32 starting QBs in the world (that start at QB in the NFL) - (then he took the team to the playoffs but still)...... No matter who you are that is going to make you feel a little entitled...

Tebow did not make a fuss about moving to NY but the circus came with him - i mean how many back ups get such a massive press conf. He was told he was not just going to be a normal back up but a big part of the offense - and that did not happen ..... the other part of him going to NY is Shanchez was on a very short leash .....so he was not going to be just any old back up ... here he would have no chance as a QB here .

Jenson was more like our own Lorenzo Alexander- Jim Jenson was taken in the 11th round of the 81 draft - so never destined to be a massive NFL star - he loved football and would play anywhere he was put ...

As much as Tebow is a great guy I just don't think he is going to come in here and be some kind of utility guy - especially as disgruntled he must be after being promised so much in NY for it to amount to nothing .... and i am sure we could find someone with a similar impact who does not come with his own circus ...

While yes, I agree that Tim Tebow would be best put to use as a FB/TE who can throw in a pinch and add a wrinkle to the offense, the answer for him here is no.

No, because I don't think he makes the transition, he believes he can play QB because of some delusion and doesn't want to transition.

No because even if he wanted to make the transition I think he fails. Did you see how the Broncos tried to use him in the first half of 2011? He was falling all over himself and bumping into his own players.

No because he'd bring a stupid media circus. We have a media circus, but it's surrounding RGIII, which is a good circus, filled with happiness about how RGIII is the nicest person ever and an awesome QB. Tebow...not so much.

No because we'd be better off drafting someone. If you really want to, draft Collin Klein and convert him. Tebow is 6'3" 236, Klein is 6'5" 226. Tell him to bulk up about 15 pounds, and run him at HB/TE behind RGIII.

Not to mention Klein can actually run our offense and is a decent passer (I use that in a loose sense, he's not that great) compared to Tebow.

I don't want anything to do with Tebow. Absolutely nothing. I have nothing against him, but when a backup QB starts havong press conferences to introduce him to a new team, there's certainly a problem.

The hype around him his last year in Denver was disgusting. You couldn't watch TV for five seconds without seeing his face. Pass. You know, that thing he can't do.

Can someone add this to the "dumbest thing you have heard a redskins fan say" thread?

haha, let's not watch that Denver/Pitt pass over and over now....Tebow cannot pass.

As many said, if he would be willing to give up his starting QB dream, maybe. But I don't think he's quite as versatile as everyone says, that just seems to be some automatic consensus about him with no real backing. Since when can he catch a ball? Since when can he pass protect? The idea was created when people said he was too bad at QB and could maybe play TE or H back or whatever. So far, all we've seen is: he's not good at QB. Maybe it just simply ends there folks.

He's a big sturdy dude who can smash it into the endzone. Hooray. We have a fullback. We're the #1 running attack in the league. I'll admit, just the IDEA that we line up with him in the backfield may make defense think for a second, but we already make DE's look like fools. Again, the #1 running attack in the league should not complicate things IMO. As with everything Tebow has done in the league, trying to fit him in would be forced. I don't want a single carry taken from Morris, and I would much rather RG3 be the one keeping.

BUT...with the possibility of RG3 out for a bit, perhaps there's room for another wrinkle, but again I think it would be forced and unnecessary.

Forget Tebow. Our offense is great. Find me a 'jack of all trades' who can play CB and S.

He actually was furious in defiance that he ever requested this. And one thing Tebow is not, is a liar. But even if he did, this request was made after the coach made it clear he wasn't going to start him even when the 1st stringer went down and he had been designated 2nd string. And then when the 3rd stringer they were trying out went down they passed him over again to play the 1st string. I don't blame him at all if he did request that.

    No to Tebow

I just don't see this as being advantageous for the Skins. Regardless of the games that the Bronco's won when he was QB, they ditched him pretty quickly after the season. The Jets never gave him the chance to do all that much......was that poor coaching, or the fact that their coaching staff realized that there was not a lot that he could do better than other players. He runs a 4.71 40....so not that fast. He is strong/tough....he would be a good teammate (so I have read).....but how would he actually HELP our team, what would he bring to the table that no one else does? He does not have any receiving history, so he would be a project......probably moreso than the Niles Paul to TE experiment as at least Paul was a WR and used to catching the ball. We have a FB.....do you think Tebow is better as a rusher than Morris, maybe Helu or Royster?

No....to me this does not make sense.....and I just do not see Tebow as some type of great PRO athletic talent. He was great in college.....but is an average NFL talent IMHO. Let someone else roll the dice....we have far more pressing needs than Tebow could solve....unless he wants to play secondary.....
