Even if we brought Tebow in and made it clear that he'll only be utilized as a FB/TE, you know deep down inside he'd still be hoping for a shot as getting under center.

And all the Tebow fans would be screaming his name as soon as RG3 throws an interception. I went to several home games last year before Kyle Orton got benched for Tebow. Opening day week 1 against the Raiders in 2011, Kyle Orton threw a terrible pass (it was raining hard), and 20,000 people in Mile High instantly started screaming Tebow's name. it was almost scary, felt kinda cult like. Tebow tore the Denver fanbase in half.

Tebow seems like a nice guy, but I want nothing to do with him.

Tim Tebow on our team? LOL> I heard Jamarcus Russell wants to come back, he is down to a "slim" 308 lbs, hell he can play FB, TE anywhere on the OL, DL and push comes to shove ILB.

If you all thought the Cult of Colt was bad.....

I hope the Skins want NOTHING to do with this guy. He's not a good QB and will probably be in the CFL or making motivational speeches within the next 2-3 years. His time is running short in the NFL.

If you want to avoid a circus, then we should just announce RG3 is out for the 2013 season.....100% of the hype/questions in camp and pre-season will be rehashing his injury and an endless stream of "when will he be ready," questions. It will totally and completely dominate the talk surrounding the team. Shanny will get grilled constantly about what happened and what he will do next time RG3 limps. And when he does come back, whenever that is, there will be many people saying it's too early, etc. etc.

You can't control the media. I would not bring Tebow in just for kicks. But if they felt they could utlize him I wouldn't NOT do it because we are afraid the media might make a big deal out of it.

If you really think there will be people at FedEx chanting for Tebow to start over RG3, you have much less faith in the Redskins fanbase than I do.

Notice they said Tebow fans, not Redskins fans. Tebow fans cheer for the guy, not the team he is on. For me, that's what makes this whole thing annoying. If the guy was a good player, yes, but he really isn't so what's the whole thing about?

I'm not sure how you can say that with a straight face. He's not a NFL-caliber QB, that much is clear. But he's a very talented football player and athlete. I have to imagine an offensive coordinator somewhere could put him in the right role to make plays in the NFL. The key is that he can't be your main weapon. If he can be a hybrid player to line up all over the field and either present a mismatch or serve as a decoy, then I think he could help an offensive move the chains and produce.
"Washington strolled to the NFC championship, outscoring their two playoff opponents by a combined total of 48 points. Their domination was more than impressive, it was historic. The 1991 Redskins boasted the largest average margin of victory among all Super Bowl champions."

You and I just disagree on what type of threat he could be....which is fine. I think that for a good team, Tebow can be an X factor of sorts....a somewhat unique weapon that when added to an already potent offense, could pose a lot of headaches for a defense. For us, he could even help limit the blows that RG takes without drastically changing the offense. He is more of a threat than Paul, Paulsen, or DY if he has the ball in space.

Inside the 10, you could line Tebow up in the backfield with Morris. Snap goes to RG, then the read option becomes very deadly....because if the ball winds up with Tebow, he actually is still a threat to throw it.

Here is the list of teams where I think Tebow could be a benefit:

--Patriots (brilliant finding ways to use talents of offensive players)
--Redskins (see all my reasons throughout thread)
--Packers (McCarthy is so smart; he hates using traditional RBs....could be a third down threat)
--Seahawks (not a great fit, barely included them on the list, but I could see it working)
--49ers (same reasons as with Redskins...could lessen the blow for Kap moving forward)

That's it...I only see five teams (with the Pats, Redskins, and 49ers above the other two) benefiting from Tebow. All of those teams already have good offenses and established QBs.

You can't take (1) ONE pass in his career and not look at his whole body of work. That pass was wobbly and high anyway. But no, he is not a passer and we don't run the wild-cat, which is the offense he's known for. Not sure he's ever run the pistol. And I'll have to say that I usually enjoy Kleese's threads, but this one is just reaching. Not sure if it's boredom or what.

The possibility of bringing back THT. Where does Tebow fit in this position? Davis comes back most likely next year w/ Paulsen already on the roster. Who's he going to out play there? Are we going to bring him in just for gadget plays? We don't have the cap space or roster space for luxury players. Tebow is a simple non starter for the Skinz.
Exactly. Hell, we're trying to get rid of Brandon Banks, not bring him back.

I think you're on to something here....we could line Russell up next to RG lll in the pistol with Morris on the other side. The possibilities are endless. We could also put Russell in a "jumbo" package when we want to pound the ball.

This is my question. These guys combined for 40 TDs in the air and on the ground and we want to replace them with a "guy" who can't throw, can't block and can't catch. Brilliant.

Honestly, I like the idea of what you are saying, just not from him. I know that makes no sense, but its how I feel. Hope you know I'm not arguing, just sharing opinions.

Not to get off topic, but I love to watch CFL Football. I watched alot of it on NFLN during the lockout and last year on CNBC (old Vs.) and quite frankly I know people in the US like to downgrade other countries and make statements about going to the CFL, but it would be even worse for Teblow there. That is a league where you NEED to be able to pass. You only get 2 downs and then either punt or go for it on 3rd down. They run multiple men in motion and the game is totally wide open. So, if anything Teblow would have to go to the UFL. He's not even good enough for the CFL. Ask Warren Moon or Doug Flutie how much passing you do in the CFL.

I wasn't trying to call you out personally, but alot of Americans are ignorant about the CFL brand of football as if it is played by inept players, which is just not the case since it's been around longer than the NFL.

As I have said in previous posts... I'm not suggesting that he come here to be our starter or even our #2... but I would love him on our roster. The guy is a BEAST running down the line of scrimmage... he'd have the 3rd best arm on our team and bottom line... a defense would have no choice but to account for him!!! 2 Million a year would be way worth it all! Heck, he could take Banks' roster spot! lol
