    Default Armstrength Kaep vs Griff

Its a pointless argument because there is no way to prove it.
Kaep did have the strongest arm in his draft class at the combine which included Mallett and Cam.
Griff didn't throw at the combine so there is no verifiable record of his velocity.

And if we're being fair we have to give homage to Cam Newton and Carolina they ran read-option and some pistol concepts last year. And we would be dishonest if we didn't acknowledge the Tebow and McCoy success riding a read-option based offense to a playoff victory. These occurances imo were as pioneering to Griff/Kyle offense as their offense is to the rest of the league.

So, while I agree that Griff/Kyle offense doesn't get enough credit for the impact it had on the Seahawks and 49ers lets not make that same mistake.
It's less the zone-read option for me; I give full credit for Cam and Chud running it to success in 2011, and Tebow and McCoy for doing it and making it to the playoffs. The Niners did show some elements of the zone-read attack, sometimes.

I don't remember them using the pistol with Kaep though, though. I could be wrong, but in 2013, Kaepernick had 5 pass attempts and 2 rushing attempts, both of which were kneel downs at the end of games. Kaep ran the zone-read a little in preseason, but he was mainly on the bench until the 49ers faced the Jets in week 4; basically, after four weeks of seeing RG3 and the Redskins run it. Then they used it sparingly until Alex Smith got hurt versus the Rams several weeks later.

Ultimately, that's the part that really started to bug me. Using the pistol is one thing, but utilizing formations and same plays and concepts and claiming them as your own is something entirely different. It became a weekly thing with Kaep and eventually Russell Wilson where I'd sarcastically put on Twitter "I wonder where the Niners got that play". It felt like we'd run a concept one week, and then the next week they would run it. There's nothing wrong with that, really; it's a copycat league. I'm sure we took some plays from other offenses too.

It's more the insistence lately that the Seahawks and Niners basically invented this crazy new thing in the middle of the season that's bothersome, along with some of the criticism Robert took for being in a very simple offense that inflated his stats. Russell Wilson and Colin Kaepernick haven't faced the same criticism, and they haven't faced the same criticism about running as Robert has about running either, despite both of them diving head first and taking hard hits.

Yes, yes Seattle and San Fran fans. RG3 running an offense from the start of the season based on the zone read in the pistol formation had little to no affect on your team's offenses.

    Yup sir doo dee.

It's no wonder some people call the 49ers the "whiners"

sheesh, you think having a team in the Super Bowl would make them happy.

Though I don't care much for media opinion, I understand where a lot of you all are coming from, those who have an appreciate for sports journalism. It's just a shame that this is the way it has been. The shame on you if you do, shame if you don't attitude.

Stories like this are proof that it is all about winning. Winning=relevance. Why would they want to talk about RG3? That's "old news" bro, and it's so 3 months ago (so they say). This is called NOW news, soley focused on the NOW and tomorrow's events

Get hurt and lose=moronic. Get hurt and win=HERO.

I don't care if the media gets it wrong. They'll just have to eat that much more crow next year.
