I think those 2 years were needed for Snyder to learn as an owner. If those two years don't happen, we probably have Vinny and stilll stuck in mediocrity

You know what ... and you guys tell me if I'm not remembering this correclty, but for as ****ed up as the coaching search circus was for Zorn ... was it not scrutized as much as it should have been?
I just think for the level of ridiculousness that it reached, the media really didn't hammer the Skins and Danny appropriately.

Yep, blame Vinny but not his employer. Sounds about right for Snyder.
Here's to ya, Jimbo

OK, I'm fairly well-schooled in football rules and "whatnot-to-do", even I knew when Gibby called 2 time-outs that it was against the rules--and after going through the entire page of Google searches on the Swinging Gate, I can't figure out what I'm really seeing or reading (maybe I need Madden with his telestrator).
So I get that the snapper can't just turn his shoulders and "pass" the ball to the QB. Is there something else that I'm missing?
Just a question...I'm not confused about the rule, just about the subject as it relates to the thread comments so far.
An opinion...I was absolutely GIDDY when we hired Steve Spurrier, but then I read that players were taking phone calls during team meetings, etc. So I was convinced from that point on that he just didn't command the respect from NFL players that he did from the college kids. A shame, I think...he's a great coach, and usually doesn't allow BS.
Of course: Defending himself for hiring Spurrier but destroying Vinny for hiring Zorn.

Interesting read....I did not know that Zorn and Cerrato were buds....of course, I was not on any Redskin website back then. Personally, I thought that Spurrier was a far more brutal choice than Zorn as a HC. Somewhere around the time Spurrier was hired, I recall reading a comment from him stating that he did not believe that NFL HC's needed to burn the midnight oil to be successful. I knew at that point that we were doomed. Then, he tried to make the Redskins the NFL version of the Florida Gators. But....not as much fun, and the only one under the gun was the QB.
With Zorn, while I was not thrilled with that hire.....I was less thrilled with the other choices of Fassel or Bellick that were floating in the media. I thought that maybe Zorn would shine as a HC, that maybe we found a diamond in the rough. Hahaha....joke was on me, and the Redskins organization. Joke was really on me as the Zorn years were the first two seasons I owned ST's. I should get some type of rebate for that.....
