They want the O's to switch their game to 1 PM and pay the O's for lost revenue. But I thought I read that they cannot play an afternoon game before 5 PM coming off a road trip. The NFL thought about switching it to Wednesday like they did this past year for the DNC, but that is the first day of Roshashana (sp). Never heard of the NFL not scheduling games because of a jewish holiday, but I could be wrong.
I was just about to start a thread on this.
The O's should tell Goodell and the NFL to pound sand.
There are other options available for the NFL, but they want to stand by their NINE year old "Tradition"
They play on Labor day..or have before. They play on Christmas. They play on T'giving. They play on Yom Kippur. I think that's just a convenient excuse by the NFL. They don't suddenly care about people's religious commitments. They want their way and they want it now.
The could start on Friday too. Or Saturday. Or the monday before or Tuesday. They ONLY want to start on Thursday.

Even IF the O's agreed to an earlier afternoon game, it would still be a traffic and logistical nightmare.

Just did a quick check. 2012 Rosh Hashanah was on 9-16 (sunday). did the nfl suspend games for it then?
    Nope.

    Neighbors become Rivals.

Ok, here is the solution. On opening day, the Ravens play the Orioles.....at Hockey. Everybody wins....or loses. Whatever.

Good ro see on various outlets that the majority of the people want the NFL to go eff themselves in regards to the scheduling "conflict' between the O's and Ravens for the Ravens first game. Don't budge Angelos and this is just another reason to hate those Ratbirds.

It's official, the Ravens will open on the road.
doesn't seem the O's are being put in a bad light....yet.

Given the limited options available to reschedule the game at that late date in the season, the parties jointly determined that even an earlier start time would still create such enormous logistical difficulties that it would greatly diminish the fan experience for both events which all parties realized would not be in the interest of their fans or the City.

The Ravens greatly appreciate the willingness of the Orioles to adjust the start of their game in an effort to make this sports spectacular happen. But, in the end, anticipated problems with parking, rush-hour traffic, plus crowd and car congestion around Oriole Park and M&T Bank Stadium, will keep the doubleheader from taking place."

It's definitely not the O's fault.

Even though I'm not a Ravens fan, I'd be pissed. The league is giving them a big F U. No reason they still can't open at home.

There ARE other options open to the NFL. But they aren't willing to take them.

Exactly. No reason they couldn't play Wednesday, Sunday, or Monday night at home.

Well, we all know by now, the NFL doesn't do what the NFL doesn't want to do.
They didn't WANT to have the Ravens at home any night other than Thursday.
