Right before the video ends there is a male voice saying something... Just FYI he says something like:

"Where did they launch it from?"

Maybe the Mayans were off a by a few months???
If it's "thinly populated" how does it injure hundreds? The article says it did damage in 6 cities (there a 6 cities in a thinly populated area?). Sounds like there were a helluva lot of fragment from that meteorite. Some of those videos were amazing. Probably would have freaked me out if I'd been driving and one of those things came that close to me.

So a male thought the meteorite was a missile/rocket? That looks nothing like either

The sonic boom caused damage and the sky burst caused a pretty good shockwave.

It is being reported that it is just a coincidence. When I first saw this story this morning, I mistaked meteor for asteroid. My initial reaction was Russia got hit worse than they did.

Cut glass is what caused the injuries.

Here's the best part from the weather.com article that was linked above:

Vladimir Zhirinovsky, a nationalist leader noted for vehement statements, said "It's not meteors falling. It's the test of a new weapon by the Americans," the RIA Novosti news agency reported

I disagree. From the videos I've seen, I could easily see someone thinking that.

Yep. I can absolutely understand why someone would think that could be a missile. How many people are goping to say "Look! a meteor!" Especially when there wasn't a warning that it was coming. My reaction would be. "What the **** was that?!"
