Default Sonnyrules Funeral Info and eulogy Help needed

Pez and I will be attending the funeral on Wednesday 2-20-13 at 10am

    Vaughn Greene Funeral Home
    8728 Liberty Rd
    Randallstown MD 21133

Pez and I will be wearing our Redskin jersey with black ribbons to honor his passion. His sister said it is ok for any that want to go to come to the funeral and wear your gear

Sonnyrules son in law asked if y'all can share your favorite post memories at games etc that he can use in the Eulogy as he knows how important the Redskins and ES was to his father in law. Please post those here where he can read and use them.

I wish I had something. I remember meeting him a few times and he was warm and generous. An upbeat fan despite times where rooting for the 'skins could be hard because of piled losses.

Mine was his smile. No matter what he always had a huge smile on his face

I have posted pix and tales to his facebook page. in short, we became friends here on Extremeskins. I found the board when Colt Brennan became a Redskin. SonnyRules and his wife love to vacation on Kauai and he contacted me to see if I wanted to get together to watch games here.
We watched several games together over the next few years- meeting early in the morning at JJ's Broiler for breakfast and loud cheering and singing Hail to the Redskins. SonnyRules was my first contact with A REAL FAN, as so many here are.... Through thick and thin... And he told me stories that only a season ticket holder would know, and made me aware of the rich history of the team and life in the stadium. He shared stories about the band and Chief Zee and brought me all kinds of Redskins goodies and gave me a jersey off his back so that I might get to FEEL like a real fan! The NFL store would not even ship to Hawaii when we met so he would come bearing Redskins gifts that I still use in my office today.
When illness prevented him from travelling, we still kept in touch on facebook and by email- ever hopeful that there would be at least one more chance to cheer together and sing Hail to the Redskins. But that was not to be. Hail to SonnyRules. True fan and kind and generous soul. We were all enriched for knowing him.

Sonny was the best QB the Redskins have had in my lifetime. I really loved seeing the Sonnyrules handle.

I never met the man. But he has the best sig on ES. I posted it on the first page of the other thread...

SonnyRules kindness and passion always came through loud and clear. He is someone I would have liked to have said I knew.
The soldiers gave three cheers as they urged their tired horses north across the uneven hills. Some of the mounts, exhausted after a week of almost continual marching, began to lag behind; others, spurred on by their enthusiastic riders, began to edge past the regiment's commander. "Boys, hold your horses," Custer cautioned; "there are plenty of them down there for us all."

He used to hang out with us at tailgates. He always had a big grin on his face. He was always upbeat, and friendly to abyone he came into contact with. It had been awhile since I had seen him at a tailgate. I had no idea of his illness. RIP SonnyRules...

I bumped an old thread of his that has some more pics with Liz and his wife. The guy looks like the kind of guy and sounds like the kind of guy any of us would be glad to call our buddy.

I remember when that happened - it was classically awesome! We had a lot of fans at that game and Ken's savvy helped us to represent in Tampa.

Thanks for posting the info this past week. It is truly appreciated.

I can please only one person each day - today is not your day. Tomorrow doesn't look good either.

This is sad news, I had the pleasure of meeting him and his sister for the Playoff game down here in Tampa in 2006! R.I.P. Sonnyrules, my condolences to his sister, family and friends!

Thanks, everyone. See the other thread on SonnyRules for a longer thank you (don't want to cross-post - not sure if that is a no-no or not here...)

@LizKauai - I mentioned you in his eulogy and told your story of watching games with him and his wife in Hawaii. Thanks so much (everyone!) for the kind words.
