The Cowboys are what we thought they were - a pretty good team with a lamentable offensive line. They're not the bottom of the barrel, nor were they ever the SB contenders soooo many IDIOTS in the media kept predicting every year. They're mired in mediocrity - a collection of individual talents without the cohesive force or structural elements that make a team a genuine contender. 8-8, not 12_4 or 4-12.

"It is our true policy to steer clear of entangling alliances with any portion of the foreign world. The great rule of conduct for us in regard to foreign nations is, in extending our commercial relations, to have with them as little political connection as possible." George Washington.
"Peace, commerce and honest friendship with all nations, entangling alliances with none." Thomas Jefferson.
The Extremely Stupid Peoples Network will doubtless still have them down as SB Champions.
Hail.
Well they won't finish that bad but they will be back in the lime light because they will win a few games and look good. Then their biggest fan, Skip Bayless, will start predicting them to win the Super Bowl with Tony Romo being the MVP. ESPN and those clowns will be jumping on the bandwagon again. They predicted the Giants to win the division and are Super Bowl contenders. I am just wondering what that is based on? It seems that they pick everyone else in the division except the Redskins, which is ok with me. I just like to blow their predictions out of the water. They view the Redskins team last year as a on hit wonder and that the defenses will figure out how to stop RGIII in this new pistol offense. But they use the same argument of why that Russell Wilson and Colin Kapernick will be successful.
I see a trend with them. I have noticed that all the arguments they make for why the Redskins won't win are the same arguments that other teams will be successful. For example, the Redskins use to go out and pay all these players that were great at there positions so they could win now. But it never worked out because the players didn't fit the schemes they ran. But when the Eagles did it they were Super Bowl favorites for two years because of Andy Reid and Michael Vick. We all know what happened with that. Another example of it has to do with the owners involvement level. Dan Snyder used to be heavily involved in the teams moves and everything else that the team did in FA or the draft, and was told he was too involved and will never win that way. But Jerry Jones is the GM and has been labeled as one of the greatest owners even though the results of his involvement has hurt the team. Al Davis did it and was also viewed as a great owner. Now that Dan Snyder has stepped back he still doen't get any respect from the media or the fans. So who cares about the Cowboys and this prediction because it will change again as soon as the season starts.
Cowgirls are in a worse cap position than the Skins because of their dead cap. If they don't cut a veteran and take a big hit, this year and/or next year, they may trade out of the first round because they couldn't sign him and other draftees anyway. Based on last year, first rounders are getting signing bonus and at least three years guaranteed salary - about a $2.5 million cap hit.
Jones doesn't know what he is going to do with Free from one day to next - with good reason...His salary is $10.2 mil this season...his dead cap is...$10.2 million. And that is one of their better options (if they dump him after June 1/ call him as a June 1 designee they can spread it out over two years). Or they can continue to do what they have been doing and restructuring contracts that have more dead cap than salary.
My happiness.
As Romo ages, he is bound to lose some of his scrambling skills. It wouldn't surprise me at all if he were to end a couple of the next few season on IR (if Jerry doesn't invest significantly in the O-Line).
oops.
I think the Eagles are still the worst in the division. Romo is still a good enough QB to put them ahead of the Eagles.
I would agree the Giants and Skins sit at the top right now, and the Cowboys are a clear third. Although... that's why they play the games.
What would A World Without Lawyers be like?
Redskins 2013 Opponents:
Home- Dallas, NY Giants, Philadelphia, Detroit, Chicago, San Francisco, Kansas City, San Diego
Away- Dallas, NY Giants, Philadelphia, Green Bay, Minnesota, Atlanta, Denver, Oakland
The Eagles are a real wildcard.
I suspect the Giants will be the popular pick. They are such a well-run organization and have been so solid for so long... that I think folks are ignoring their holes and their suspect offseason. To say they are a clear-cut favorite in the division is pretty lazy. But that's par for the course with Schein, who is a huge Giants homer.
I for one, enjoy the cowpoke hype year in and year out, helps me get through the week when the skins aren't on or doing well
FS✔, MLB?, RT?, SS✔, TE✔, CB✔.
As soon as I announced to friends that the Cowboys would finish 2-14 this season, I was laughed at. They predict more of the same 8-8...just enough hope during the season to keep the ESPN bandwagon rolling, but not good enough to get into the playoffs, not bad enough to get into the top of next year's draft.
Either way, I'm screwed. But for all my Skins friends, have another round. Jerruh's buying.
