Lang Being Scouted By Other Clubs In Earnest

a blurb in the Post indicated the Detroit Red Wings have had scouts at Caps games on at least six or seven occasions to watch Robert Lang who is having his best season for the club.

this team, despite the recent up trend, are still looking to pare payroll.

I would still not be surprised to see Lang and another top salary, either Jagr or Kolzig, dealt by the trade deadline.

Fans saw this past week that Maxime Oullet at 22 looks like an up and coming netminder in the NHL and the Caps have the luxury of having a young potential #2 aboard as well in Rastislav Stana.

So, Kolzig's departure is not that far-fetched.

I don't think the club would trade Sergei Gonchar, although interest in him has been second only to that for Lang.

I read that too, Bulldog. But Hanlon's arrival has brought out some inspired play by the team. They really do look like a new team and I would love to see them make a run rather than dealing Lang and Kolzig. That may not be realistic but I hope it happens.
