Commish might reject the AROD deal

Just heard on some sports talk radio show that the Commish actually might reject this trade.

He is still upset about the union's rejection involving the trade to the Redsox.

He also feels this gives the Yankees to much of an advantage and will have a payroll of almost 90 million more then anyone else. The yankees themselves payroll will be higher then entire divisions.

He is thinking yes this would be good now for baseball but terrible for the future

He couldn't really reject this because it gives the Yanks "too much of an advantage",could he?
Or reject it because they have already spent too much money?

These things aren't against the rules.

I think it is an unfair advantage to all the other teams, you have 6 out of the top 12 contracts off all time playing on the same team.

He might make a bold decision here and put and end to the spending.

    Booma,
As much as I'd love to see the Yanks get screwed, I just don't see how the commissioner would be at liberty to "put an end to the spending." As long as the Yankees aren't technically doing anything illegal, the commissioners' hands are pretty much tied.

It may take another work stoppage, but I hope MLB can figure out a way to correct this insanity.

Or you can beat up all the yankee fans you see, stop the problem at its source. Destroy all bandwagoners.

Actually, the comish CAN reject the trade under the "for the good of the game" clause.
It's been done in the past.

I actually agree with rejecting it. The Yanks are spending WAY more than other teams because they have WAY more revenue. It's unfair to expect the smaller market teams to be able to spend as much money.
But don't get me wrong, I don't care that much. What will end up happening is that the Yanks will cause some other teams to fold. The owners will decide that they can't spend as much, so they wont, their teams will suck and fans wont support them.
    Another post down the drain...

It just makes it all the better when the Yankees fall in the playoffs. I love to see George's face when his team is eliminated from the playoffs. It's be even sweeter this year if he were to get them to the series with a payroll twice the 2nd highest payroll in the league, only to lose to an underachieving TEAM....instead of a bunch of all-stars hell bent on bankrupting the league.
