You know, I'm not certain ANYTHING would work on these people. For one, they use ambulances and aid convoys to smuggle in weapons and as troop transports. These are the same type of people who think Jews ANYWHERE in the world are a legitimate target for violence, that infidel women are legit targets for rape and harrassment.

If we use pig fat or blood, all they'll do is find some scriptural basis for ignoring it. After all, tehy hide out in mosques and plot the murder of civilians in their "holy places" and then scream when we do anything.

The Muslims in that part of the world, especially the Arabs thrive on the construction of "dream castles" and each attempt to shatter these edifices only leads to them being built to ever-greater heights. It makes no sense, but fantasy is very much a part of the mindset in Arab culture.

ANd it's a shame-based culture, not a moral-based one. The "diss" is more important than blowing up kids. UNLESS it's their kids and you're an infidel---then that's immoral.
Well, even if the Pershing idea is an urban myth it's a good one. lol

I do know that radical Islamist culture is highly superstitious.

That kind of thing might make them think twice about terrorist attacks...

Assuming that this is a reliable story, what are the ramifications for Israel?

If Syria has Iraq's WMD -- and is known to be actively giving these WMDs to terrorist groups wanting the destruction of Israel and the West...

It's just as short, or shorter, for these bad guys to drive to somewhere in Israel, as it was for them to drive to Amman.

What would be the ramifications if Israel pre-empted such a scenario and attacked Syria?

This COULD get very interesting in a hurry.

you have to fight yes, but you also should not be enemies of the majority of the people you are trying to fight. What did the 9/11 attacks do, they did not break our will, instead they made us go in and destroy Al Qaeda.

The idea of destroying ones citizens to demoralize the population does not work most of the time. We were actually talking about this in our military history class last week. Germany thought that if they bombed Britain's major cities, thatd weaken the morale of the citizens for a massive ground invasion during WWII. Instead, it just strengthened the British citizens to either enlist, or help out more in factories to fight off the invasion. You have to try and make yourselves look friendly and helpful to the people, and the unfortunate thing is, lotsa Arabs see us as helping Iraq, but many dont as well just making us look bad. Plus, the civilian deaths that have happened are not helping either.

"wonder where they got the chemicals?"

Well, considering that Iraq originally got their chemicals from us, who knows where they came from...

My problem is that we have a habit of arming our enemies when we want something done with out doing it ourselves. I wish we would stop that.

A lot of the chemicals that were procured by Iraq were mostly from France and Germany....we just provided weapons and some technology......

as for muslims.....repeat after me......the only thing they understand is power and force anything less and they think you are weak....prime example check out this story about the police man that died a few weeks ago when tryin to arrest the terrorists in Spain....and note this is after they announced they are pulling out.....

MADRID, Spain (CNN) -- The body of a Spanish police officer who was killed in a raid on suspected Islamic terrorists was removed from its tomb Sunday night, dragged across a cemetery, doused with gasoline and burned, a Spanish police official told CNN.

Police do not know who committed the crime, and an investigation is under way.

Francisco Javier Torronteras, a special operations police officer, died April 3 during a police raid in a Madrid suburb where police believed suspects behind the March 11 Madrid train bombings were hiding.

The suspected terrorists set off a bomb during the raid and seven of them died, of whom four have been identified.

Police said the suspected ringleaders of the train bombings were among those killed.

Torronteras was not buried underground, but in an above-ground tomb at Madrid's Southern Cemetery.

Assailants Sunday night used a long pole to pry the tomb open, dragged the body about 200 meters, covered it with gasoline and set it on fire.

The cemetery's night watchman spotted the fire and alerted authorities, a police official said.

Spain's new interior minister Jose Antonio Alonso, at a previously scheduled event Monday, did not discuss what had happened to Torronteras' body.

But he called the slain officer an example of the bravery exhibited by all the Spanish officers who have died in the line of duty.

But he said: "I want to express my heartfelt recognition for the police special operations officer who died in the line of duty in the well-known operation on Saturday the 3rd in Leganes.

"In a way, he is the symbol of so many police officers and civil guards who have died earlier in the line of duty."
