Default is McNabb jealous of TO

i just heard McChoke once again downplay the signifigance of having TO as a teammate. suzy colburt said to McChoke that TO is the difference maker on your team and he corrected her and said, "i know people think that TO is the difference maker, but he isnt . it's really brian westbrook." this guy is soooo jealous that TO gets alot of the credit for that team finaly getting to the superbowl. it's rediculous. McChoke doesnt want TO to shine. i hated TO, but what he did to get himself ready and play as well as he did, was crazy good. and i respect the hell out of him now. McChoke should be kissing his a@*. if TO didnt play in that game, just imagine how bad McChoke would have been. with TO that offense was scary, an agressive machine. westbrook is a very good player, but they could live alot easier without him than without TO. McChoke should praise TO and next time TO tries to talk to you and settle you down on the sideline, try not making yourself look like a two year old and be a leader. what are your thoughts?

Andy Reid has also said prior to the SB that Westbrook was the team's MVP. I think he said it to help pacify McNabbs ego and help keep TO's in check. Maybe McChoke believes it and maybe he is just an Andy Reid robot repeating what he's told. However actions speak louder than words. Reid called the game, why didn't he call #36 and use his MVP more in the game plan??

Oh wait I guess he did. #81.

Kurt Warner the 1st time against New England..I think he was a pro-bowl QB that year.

Absolutely not. Westbrook is a major key in that offense. I hate the eagles, but Westbrook in my opinion is one of the best players in the NFL. He somehow manages to scramble or receive for that first down.

I do agree that McNabb may be getting a little irritated that the limelight is starting to come off him...

Now, here's what I find funny.

    1) TO had nothing to do with the team "getting" to the superbowl in that TO didn't play in a single Post season game before the superbowl.

    2) The only Post season game TO DID play in.. well, the Eagles lost. So how can TO be the difference maker when they loss the only game he plays in?

    3) When you look at stats throughout the season, TO played one game more then Westbrook but yet their yards at TD numbers are so close, you can't possibly say one is bigger then the other.

    Yards TDs
    TO 1200 14
    Westbrook 1515 13
    (Rushing/ receiving combined)

To be honest, I see McNabbs point of view. TO is a great receiver and is very much an impact player for the team, but a difference maker is stretching it a bit far. Where I can McNabb calling Westbrook the difference maker is the fact that Westbrooks versitility allows him to change roles when a defense is shutting down one aspect of the game.

I don't think Jealousy is the word for it. Like Pez said irritated, but more for TO getting props for something he just didn't do.

The entire Eagles organization revolves around TO's

Reid and handlers prolly coached up the entire team as to what to say and when. The only one not playing along is Mitchell because he knows he is history.

I don't think McNabb is downlplaying TO at all, I think this is a case of where he is just repeating what he was told from coach Reid. I know if we got Brian Westbrook I wouldn't be disappointed, that guy is a great. I mean don't get me wrong I love Portis too, but Westbrook is awesome too. Westbrook was the MVP of that team and just because TO had a good SuperBowl doesn't mean that Westbrook didn't either.

Sorry fellas, but FBChick is exactly right. TO was very good for the Eagles this season and made their offense pretty scary at times... and Donovan never said that wasn't the case. But was TO the difference that caused that team to get to the Superbowl? Of course not because he did not even play in the playoffs until they had already gotten to the Superbowl. I guess if you are really desperate, you could say the Eagles may not have gotten to the playoffs without TO, but I think you would have to be pretty insane to claim that.

McNabb is right that in the playoffs, the part of their game that was significantly better than previous seasons was Westbrook's play.

No, I don't think McNabb is jealous of anyone....If you really step back and think about it, Westbrook is tougher to match up than TO....TO may be the greatest receiver in the game and makes big plays, but look at what Westbrook did to our Redskins...he was the biggest difference maker by the numbers...Of course teams key on TO and that allows others to step up, but strictly the numbers may tip toward Westbrook...

Exactly. Westbrook has always been the guy that gets a pass dumped off to him in a pinch. I thought it was interesting that for each of the passes that he got in the pro-bowl, from guys other then mcnabb, he got them in the same manner. He seemed to be the last option.

I don't even understand that statement. Please elaborate. I know it's your objective to post the worst possible scenario when something Eagles related is posted but are you trying to suggest TO is proving to be a cancer because he was so good that the media are giving him his due?
Around the NFL- Never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

T.O. is the MVP of the Eagles. No T.O. no Super Bowl appearance, IMO. McNabb is entitled to his opinion though. He is the leader of the team and has a better perspective of the offense than T.O. McNabb doesn't have to say things that keep T.O. and his ego happy.
I take back all the bad things I said about Kirk Cousins
