    Default Turst GW

Last year we lost Barrow. He inserts Pierce. We lose Bowen. He shuffles Lott. We lose Lott he inserts Clark. Who? RYAN CLARK. We lose Smoot or Springs, he inserts Harris, Wilds, Jimoh,etc... We lose Arrington--Lemar Marshall. Jermanine Haley hurt put in Salavea. No Philip Daniel - How about the well known Warner, Evans, and Clemons?

Man this defense is a bunch of misfits. Wait!!! Number 3 in the league? With any type of true offense that could have sustained any drives at all this would easily have been number one in the league.

Why mention this? I hate the idea of SMOOOOOOT leaving too but if Williams doesnt care and is willing to take on Rolle for even more money, I say he knows better than you and I. Williams has shown his worth and seems to know personel on the defensive side of the ball. Rolle obviously excites Williams for his defesne more than Smoot does. I can live with that.

Right now we don't have any other reason not to trust Greg Williams.

i wholeheartedly concur. he's the last one we should question. our biggest worries should be on the offensive side of the ball. If we get rolle we'll have everything we need to put together a good defense. We dont need a new DE, thats a luxury at this point.

I agree. I just hope however we don't pay Rolle 15 million SB. I mean that would be crazy. How much extra does Ty Law cost because for that much money I would rather have him even though he is a couple of years older than Rolle.

Prime example is Barrow not being there and homegrown talent Pierce performed admirably and for far less than Barrow.

Now imagine if we just extended Pierce last year with the money we tied up in Barrow.

thats one thing the iggles are smart at doing and thats identifying and getting the young guys under contract before they can hit the market
You can't really expect a new coaching staff to come in and know what they have. As far as they were concered after dumping Trotter they felt they had a hole at MLB. Nobody had a clue that Pierce would finally step up and be a good MLB for us. This is just a blessing in disguise for us that we had someone step up and be a leader on this team. Now once he's signed we will be very deep at MLB position.

turst = Trust. Good to see you were able to comment on the post and its content. Spelling was not the priority. As for Ty Law. He has a lot of rehab left. There were no free agent mistakes on the defensive side of the ball. Barrow was the medical staffs mistake, and I for one think as good as Pierce was Barrow would have completely stuffed the run in the middle. Pierce would have slid to LA spot.

Based upon the "Trust GW" logic, the skins could cut their entire defense spend the savings on offense then hire some out of work local boys to man the "D". With GW running the show, his genius alone should get us a top 10 ranking.

Except he's not saying that. We're talking abotu replacing a good corner with another good corner. Not cutting Smoot and signing Chris Dishman from the nursing home./

    Are you joking?

Gregg Williams was practically the GM for the defense. Other than Barrow, every single guy he got played AWESOME. Maybe if Barrow played, he would have done well too. That doesn't mean it was a bad choice by him.

Pierce surprised everyone, showing ability he had never shown before. Keep in mind Gregg Williams was coaching the Bills last year - he really didn't know much about Pierce yet. He was busy trying to build our defense and managed personnel on that side of the ball better than we could even dream.

Williams DID handpick the players last year, and if we can't trust him after that, then, well I don't know what to say.
RIP Sean Taylor. We miss you #21
