Brandon Spikes Eye Gouging

As a UGA grad, all I can say is that I'm upset that Spikes didn't go after our QB's eyes instead. Now I have to watch him %#$% up the offense for another 4 games before this nightmare season mercifully comes to a close.

never said you did...and if you look toward the beginning of it you will see that I said I was disappointed in Spikes and he deserves a game suspension.

I'm also of the opinion that FSU doesn't completely "suck" considering it has one of the better offenses in the country

I'm judging by who you all have played and what the outcome was....you barely beat NC state and Jacksonville state. You have a 4-4 record and play in the ACC...that sucks!!!!

(and definitely a better offense than the Gators)

I don't think you can make that statement being that we play far superior competition....you guys didn't play against LSU and Tennessee's defenses

, and I think they're going to become a very, very good program by 2011 once Jimbo Fisher takes over and gets a real DC for the defense, and I've been saying that really since about 2007.

anything is possible, but I doubt it. Miami and UF will probably dominate the recruiting you guys will need to build your program back up.

Really, my only problem is that you're so predictable with your over the top homerism for UF, and you rarely respond to other people's actual points

I'm pretty sure I've responded to most of your "points" in this thread.......eye gouging is a common occurrence....it happens every game. I also brought up Cam Newton when you were claiming Urban Meyer and UF don't discipline their players.

when I see you post about the Wizards or Redskins, you actually have a lot of pretty good points to make.

You just become trapped in this bizarre super-biased box as soon as the Florida Gators are brought up.

they are the only team I like with a good program/team every year...I'll defend them to the bitter end.

As for the UF/FSU game this year, I'll go on record right now and say UF wins it 56 to 14, or something very similar

56 huh....that is pretty good for a team with a lackluster offense...as you would seem to point out.

I predict 38-17

UF's offense is terrible this season but they're still going to abuse FSU's undisciplined back seven and undersized d-line

Terrible offenses don't put up 56 points on "teams that don't suck"

and Ponder and the offense won't be able to battle back out of the hole they're put in against that good of a defense in the Swamp.

no Major...anyone who actually played the sport knows that **** like that happens multiply times ever game. For the thousandth time...I'm not condoning eye gouging someone...I would hope my emotions would never run so rampant to where I would resort to that...but it happens.

But seriously, get over it. Maybe Spikes should have been suspended for a full game; but urban did suspend him for a half and the NCAA did NOTHING...so just get over it!.

The main reason people are getting so up in arms about this is because it was a FLORIDA player...the #1 team in the land.

No one made a huge deal about the Michigan player upper cutting the Notre Dame player in the chin. Rich Rod went so far to say it happened in the heat of the game and didn't matter if the Refs didn't call it...or some **** like that. That is much worse, but didn't get half the attention this is getting.

well Major, I don't know what kind of pitty patty flag football crap you guys play up in west VA...but where I'm from all kinds of **** goes down in the pile. Late hits...punching, eye gouging....we even had a guy get bit once.

I was a kicker...I was involved in a few piles during botched snaps or holds...also at the end of the game freshman year they would put me in at safety sometimes....so I witnessed first hand. Also saw my teammates get jacked up in piles...or jack others up in piles. you hear guys on the sidelines complaining about this guy did this, or this guy did that. Also hear your own teammates brag about doing this to this guy...or whatever.

If you played football and/or coach, I have a hard time believing you didn't experience these things. It happens every game.
