stop going to games which also means stop buying tickets is the best way to handle it.

Yes the NFL takes 33%

I was shocked when you didn't know that they are the most profitable why i was so hard press to buy into your system.

That won't happen

You just get to pick a new team to cheer for as they will not put a team back there for years

Even still, I wonder if the debt is considered on the P&L of the Redskins organization when calculating the Net Income or if that profit is then used to service debt on the books of Snyder Communications?

That may still make my idea a viable one. In other words, the Redskins are still technically profitable, but the cash he earns is still used to pay off debt on the books of the holding company.

Just a thought.

It's unlikely. However, if Dan was threatening to move the organization, but had to leave the colors, name, and traditions, I doubt there would be many people begging him to stay.

Of course one the things you are ignoring is it becomes more profitable when they are winning, which is a motivating factor and probably why Dan has done things the way he has in the past

If the team was winning, a boycott would be unnecessary. I think a bigger concern is that many of the die hard fans are just not caring anymore. Apathy is settling over this fanbase - and it's generally hard to motivate apathetic people.

They are the most profitable because we make them the most profitable.

The Redskins had expenses of $255 million last year. They receive only $96 million from tv contracts. All other revenue sources are within our power to stop. We can absolutely make him sell.

I thought the teams had to share the gate with the NFL. It sounds like based on this article that isn't the case.

Nevertheless, all season tickets are sunk cost at this point and it won't hurt him since he has the money in hand already.

The key is to figure out what percentage of the operating income comes from gate and which comes from revenue streams that can be impacted via. boycott or letter-writing campaign.
and we are most profitable most pretty decent margin over the other teams...

the boycotting sounds all great and everything. However, maybe we can get everyone on the same page for a week but to have any real impact, it needs to be for an extended period of time.. i doubt we will ever be able to get something organized that long...

I think the best thing to do is everyone wear paper bags outside the stadium... if they wont allow it inside the stadium... we should do it in the parking lots.. it will be embarassing to Snyder.

I believe it was the WP that ran an article several years ago that Dan had taken advantage of interest rates & re-fied the loan. So while he gets a lower monthly payment, its spread out over a longer time period.

He's not as liquid right now as he used to be before the economy went into the ****ter.

Think about this.

He could fire Vinny & Zorn now or 4 weeks ago & still be on the hook to pay out their contracts.

If you've millions & millions to just toss around like they're pennies, then at least one of them is canned.

Vinny's contract is up at the end of the year.

Zorn has one year left with an option to extend to two more years.

In this economy, you let Vinny ride out his contract & don't bring him back. You use him going away as the way to dump Zorn & JC as all 3 are tied to each others hips.

These never ending protest ideas are getting a little ridiculous. You will never organize enough people to make a difference. There is only one thing fans can do and many have already stated it. Simply stop going to the games and stop buying anything that puts money in Snyder's pockets. Then ask everyone you can to do the same. If you have tickets, try and sell them, preferrably to fans of the other team. If you can't sell them, then you have a choice to make. Stand up to Snyder and just eat the money or go to the game and live with the status quo.

Is anyone here being forced to cheer for the Skins?

If not then there is 31 other teams you can go cheer for if you do not have what it takes to ride out this rough patch
