Locker's also only completing about 56% of his passes, with 12 TDs to 8 INTs. And he had about a 53% completion rate last year (although he only threw about 90 passes, so that's kind of negligible).

He needs another year under Sarkisian. Right now he's just got completely raw physical tools, and that's not enough for the NFL level, especially where the reality is these days, when you draft a QB in the first round, he's probably going to see a decent amount of playing time at some point in his first year.

Well my logic is that I dont really want a QB in the first RD right now though that could change. I am assuming we will be drafting one somewhere so it could be Tebow that is the best of whats left in the second. Thats yet to be determined.

My preference would really be to trade back in the first and get two Olinemen then grab a QB if thats the plan. It is interesting though as to what happens when you surround a guy with NFL caliber talent like you said... We probably should have tried that ourselves

Just throwing out an idea-
With many mocks having the Browns picking before us and them taking a QB, would Brady Quinn be a good fit for us?

I know he hasnt done squat in Cleveland, but it doesnt appear anybody else has since kosar was there.

I just ask, because sometimes a player doesnt fit in a particular scheme, but a change in scenery makes a world of difference.

And as a plus, we could use the picks for lineman.

Christian Ponder ... FSU.

Exteremely smart, fast, accurate, arm strength ... I no I am an FSU fan but I am no homer ... I only say a qb is the real deal if he is ... and Ponder has it all to make it in the NFL.

If we had three first round picks we could rebuild our entire offense. Give me Clausen, Spiller, and an OT and we have something to build around to go along with the rest of our young wrs and tes.

Our offense has holes but there is some talent there. Guys like Portis and Moss become great depth and weapons when you put some youth around them.

Of course we never will. The thought of drafting a rb to co exist with Portis doesnt even exist in our front offices mind.

Ponder's not quite ready yet for the NFL. He's got a lot of the tools, both physically and mentally, but he has a little more size to put on as well as some more overall polishing.

Another year with Jimbo Fisher and he could very well be a 1st round pick.

That being said, I'd say there's about a 99% chance he doesn't come out this year anyway.

Jimmy Clausen is so overrated it is ridiculous...ive been watching this guy since he came out of highschool as a top prospect...Yuck...

Tebow is a winner...that is all I can say. Everyone thinks he will fail in the NFL but he is the type of quarterback that will win...he will do whatever he takes to win...go ahead and say im wrong but these are my opinions and I think in the near future I will be proven right...

Edit: By the way, I am not saying Tebow is the type of quarterback we would want...especially if he is coming to play the WILDCAT...I am just saying that I believe he will succeed in the NFL

I would rather have Bradford....Anyone else besides Colt Mccoy and Jimmy Clausen...

I've been throwing this idea around in my head since starting this thread. Him or Anderson. I'm not enamored with any of the QB's coming out this year, not with a first anyway. My preference is getting a QB in FA, someone like Kolb for instance. Then, use the draft picks we have to get fatties for the O-line and a RB for the future. There's been plenty of RB's taken in later rounds that are running well in the NFL.

Here's the problem we have, without a GM to keep Danny at bay we'll end up drafting a bunch of supposed "stars" and it'll blow up in our faces. We need a person to help us draft like that dude down there in NO.

Anderson, as in Derek Anderson?

He's easily worse than Jason Campbell. He had one alright season where he threw it up into double coverage and Braylon Edwards and Kellen Winslow just made highlight reel catches constantly.

He had a solid year that season if I remember it correctly. Sure he hasn't done much since but it is the browns.

I highly doubt Ponder is going to come out this year. One more year with Jimbo could elevate his stock, plus there seem to be a lot of quarterbacks coming out this year.

Yeah, 2007. It wasn't that solid.

Sure, he threw for 29 TDs, but that was also with 19 INTs, and with an 82.5 QB Rating and 56.5 completion percentage off of 527 throws. And that was with Winslow and Edwards basically bailing him out constantly and an unbelievably good o-line (Joe Thomas' rookie year and Eric Steinbach at left guard being the main pieces there) that didn't let anybody touch him in pass protection.

And since then he's thrown 11 TDs to 17 picks.

He had a game this season (against Buffalo no less, not exactly a powerhouse team) where he completed 2 out of 17 pass attempts for 23 yards, with an INT as well. That's maybe the worst game for any starting QB in recent history.

Trust me, he's not a good QB by any means. A decent back-up, but that's it.

So why are those WR's open? The threat of the run game. That is where some NFL people believe he could revolutionize the position, etc.

That is a main reason for running, to open up the pass...Tebow is so effective that they simply don't need to pass.

I'm not pushing for Tebow, just playing the opposite view.

Yeah I know Ponder wont be coming out here ... I just like to talk about him when possible. Although Ponder did say he would see where his draft stock is after the season and go from there.
